Misrepresented product? Hi,  I bought (at Staples) two remanufactured inkjet cartridges COMPATIBLE with hp 56 black and hp 57 colour pack. Now the box is completely legit, hp is presented with it's registered mark yet my hp printer decided to NOT print showing the message error of: INCOMPATIBLE INK. That is amazingly disturbing to think that Staples could forfeit a brand!!! And if that is not the case, how can I get around this problem? Thanks! Need to print real bad and real soon! Martine

No manufacturing process is flawless. These things happen. Return to staples for an exchange. Most managers will exchange ink even after the 14 days. If they dont, then buy new ones and recycle the nonworking ones for $3 on your rewards statement. I have seen people come back the same day after they bought a brand new HP ink cartrige beucase it does not work. Its not that they had the wrong cartridge, its just that it was a bad one.

HP Deskjet 5150 poor print quality

For poor printing problems I suggest you run the Tap 10 diagnostic print test (see link to video below).
If the new (or refilled/reman/compatible) HP 56, 57 or 58 ink cartridge refuses to print black/color and/or function at all (i.e. blinking ink light on Deskjet 5000 series printer) or fails to complete the printer alignment following cartridge installation, then the ink cartridge either has a connectivity issue with the flexible printed circuit cable (inside unit where cartridge mates with cable), the rear cartridge contacts or cable contacts are dirty with ink residue, or the cartridge is suffering from marginal internal electrical performance. It is suggested you perform the TAP 43 (and TAP 10) DIAGNOSTIC PRINTER TEST to evaluate the ink cartridges electrical performance. Visit Inkjet411 support site to see instructional video: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=2358
NOTE: For the HP Deskjet 5000 series printer models, when you get an HP 56, 57 or 58 integrated ink cartridge refilled (i.e. currently offered at Costco or Frys today) or if you buy a remanufactured/compatible HP ink cartridge, the ink levels are not initially reset. However, continuing to use an ink cartridge which displays LOW INK alerts is permitted by the printer, simply select OK, CONTINUE or DISMISS when these alerts are observed. Now, it is possible to reset the ink levels by performing the procedure outlined on Inkjet411's site: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1915
To clean the HP 56, 57 or 58 ink cartridges please visit the Inkjet411 site which provides recommendations on how to clean the electrical contacts, flex driver cables and how to perform a hot water flush of the nozzle plate (refer to video): http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1519

I am unable to insert the Ink Cartridges in HP 1315 Printer

Hi

Make sure you've got either 56 or 27 black and 57 or 28 colour cartridges. See here:

http://www.inksave.co.uk/product/PSC-1315/

You "pop" them down then withdraw the old ones. Put the new ones in angled slightly upwards then click them up into place. The raised plastic on top of the cartridges will prevent installation into the wrong ports. If you're trying to put in a 58 photo cartridge it goes into the black port.

Good Luck!

I refilled my #56 and bought a new cartridge for the #57 and it says color cartridge 57 failed but if i remove the #56 it kinda works but doesnt print everything and takes forever to print.

i think your colour cartridge is chocked up .clean it ,pour the head of the colour catridge in hot water then clean it from tissue and enjoy ur printing.

Purchased cartridges for the HP all-in-one 4215xi printer and cannot install the cartridges. 1st I purchased the 56/57 tri-pack and couldn't get them in the printer. Went back and purchased 27/28...

Your printer takes the HP 56/57 cartridges. When you buy new cartridges you need to remove the black clip, then remove the strip of tape that covers the print head, then the cartridge can be installed in the printer.

HP7660 Photosmart Printer

It comes with HP #57 (C6657 A)—Tri-color print cartridge and HP #56 (C6656A)—Black print cartridge and the 56 must always be in there (the black one) but acceptable replacements for the color one are as follows: HP #58 (C6658A)—Photo print cartridge I suggest for the best photos use 58 and 56.
