sounds like an irq conflict. need to boot up in safemode so computer stays on long enough to fix. may need start up disk or press f8 to get into safemode list
If the video isn't playing, you may need to download and install what's called a "Driver" and this specific driver would be for audio. It depends on your computers make and build.
Another reason could be you need to update Adobe Flash Player, which you can do so here.
Is the audio card or on board audio enabled? What about the sound properties? is the volume muted? Power supply for speakers working? Are the speakers working? Unplug the cable and touch the tip of the jack- you should hear noise when you make contact. The fast way to test them.
The most compatible driver would be the one detected by Vista in Windows Update. Give that a try and see if it can find a hardware device driver for the Sonar. Ensure the Sonar is connected and on before you check for updates (Start > All Programs > Windows/Microsoft Update).

I ran into the same issue with an AVR 7000 after it had been shipped to me. I took the cover of and found that the left and right amplifiers have a separate power plug into them. when I plugged to "bad" side back in everything worked great.

Connect headphones to see if you're getting sound from the unit your connected to. If you get sound then the amp fuse might have blown out or IC is gone bad on the unit. If this is a laptop or desktop reboot the system and see if sound returns. Try updating your sound drivers for your PC.
