No network and sometimes gives me emergency calls only or it comes sometimes and then goes

If your phone says emergency calls only, then it is not a network connection issue. If the phone was not connected you couldn't make any calls. The primary reason for Emergency calls only coming up on cell phones is that the phone has been deactivated by the carrier, either due to being reported lost or stolen, or due to non-payment or overage of time allocations. Check with your provider to find out the status of your account.

Emergency calls only is a symptom where a cellphone loses its registration to a valid network operator. It usually happens to me when I am in another country and the cellphone cannot locate valid operators. Looks like some telcos choose particular network partners. What I do is choose the network operator manually in the phone's setting.

If you are in your home country and this happens, it only tells you that you are out of coverage area and the phone is losing connection to your network operator. Maybe you are inside a building with thick walls which cause poor reception. You may try choosng an area where the symptom goes out.

Sometimes it happens as if you dont have network service also it contacts other networks for emergency calls.

Try resetting the phone. If that doesn't work, show it to a cell phone repair store. It maybe an issue with the IC that regulate the Cell phone signal.

'Emergency Calls Only' message comes when there is no network coverage by the service provider. So when you get this message, try selecting your network from AUTOMATIC to MANUAL. Switch off your phone and see if you are getting some network. If still there is no network and same message appears then it means, you are at a place where the network strength of your service provider is poor. Try going to a place where the network strength is good.

This means that the SIM card is not accepted on this phone. You need to verify and check if the phone is actually unlocked for use to other networks.

You can also try to put the phone back into factory defaults.

it has to be bad reception....have u tried contacting ur netwrk service provider...plz do check with them and update me...

I have the same problem. It shows network for sometime then it will show emergency calls only and after some time its again operational. Can anybody help??
