On some mowers there is a small rod that sticks out the rear of the mower where the trailer ball would go with this small rod being pulled out. Which is for safety in the operation if this is pushed back in sometimes this resolves the problem. If it does not something is either stuck in the belt drive or under the deck in the blades or wrapped up around the blades causing the tractor to die or stall out.If any help is needed further ask for me personally we will get it fixed. Please rate my solution it is how i receive my achievements. Thanks in advance

Check to see if the belt might have come off and wedged on something under the frame. Or,,maybe a spindle could be locked-up. One more thing to check is if your deck might have a braking system on it to keep the blades from moveing it might not be disingaging.

I need to adjust my scag mower deck

The mower deck can be adjusted from a height of 1.0 inch to 6.0 inches at 1/4-inch intervals. To adjust the cutting height:
1. Disengage the power to the cutter blades.
2. Push the cutting height adjustment foot pedal all the way forward using your right foot until it locks in place
3. Insert the lanyard pin into the cutting height index at the desired cutting height. Push forward on the deck lift foot lever, hold in place and pull back on the deck release lever. Slowly release the foot pedal. A deck height decal is located on the cutting height index as an aid in adjusting the deck to the desired height.

When cutting deck ingages the motor starts cutting out .runs fine until then

The safety cut out switch for the seat curcuit is probably the problem.
Check to make sure it isn't broken or faulty.
It should be located just under the seat, more than likely it's a simple metal contact, and very easy to spot.
Good luck.

Bilt that runs off of main drive pulley keep, to deck comes off

If you have an owners manual, verify correct routing of the belt. If this is correct, check all the pulleys with the belt off to ensure they turn freely. Recommend not mowing with the deck in a very low position also. This creates an awkward alingment. Let me know.

Craftsman GT5000: Dies when switch is pulled to engage blades

Hi
Check for burnt fuse behind dash. If no burnt fuses check if getting power to magnetic clutch mounted on bottom of engine crankshaft. Make sure wires are not broken by magnetic clutch. Make sure the safety seat switch is working. Make sure you are sitting on the seat when you try to engage the blades. If that does not work try pushing and wiggling the seat sensor. Check make sure wire is attached to safety switch under seat.
