Hello. Have you actually seen the water flowing thriugh the paddle? I suggest taking the washer out of its home. Remove the arm in question. Spray a good amount of CLR on the mounting hub and through the arm Calcium does build up and cause the force of water to be less than needed to rotate the arm. Its also ok to run some CLR in the washer once a month when its empty to keep it running calcium free. Thank you , Quinn

Front load washer wont spin

Check for drain obstructions. Might be something caught up in or near the drain pump. If water drains out of unit with no problems, check the belt. Motor could be issue as well. If you reach inside the tub where you put your clothes in, and grab one of the paddles, see if the tub itself moves back and forth and up and down. If you have a lot of free play or movement with the tub test, sounds like your spin bearing may have failed. If it is the spin bearing, not worth fixing.

Is the paddle supposed to spin

Your paddle won't turn. Your silver bucket is the one moving (turning) and not the paddle. It's working like it should. I thought the same before I found the lid (cover).

The paddle in my new 1.5 L ice cream maker is not turning - is this normal?

Hello Maryo803,

It is not normal for the paddle not to move in these units. First we have to determine weather the paddle is striped or the gear is stripped. At the bottom of the paddle there is a hole that attaches to the turning gear on the machine. Look and see if it still matches the sprocket in the bottom of the ice cream maker. If it does not still match I would suggest buying a new paddle. You can purchase a new paddle from Cuisinart for $8.00 and here is a link to the page. http://www.cuisinart.com/parts/ice_cream/ice-20.html

However, if it is not the paddle please post back to this thread and I will see if it is worth changing out the bottom gear.

The motor will turn on it's own but will not turn the kneading blade in the pan when that is put into the breadmaker. makes a soft "thunk" as it tries to turn it. It's like the gizmo at the...

Hi, First, the take empty pan and paddle out of the machine. Try to spin the paddle by hand. If it spins freely that's great. If it does not spin freely the sealed bearing that allows the paddle to spin has failed and you will need a new bread pan. If everything is okay, keep the pan out of the machine and go to a kneading cycle. Look through the window to see if the motor shaft is turning. If not then the belt is loose or fell off. Hank

Loaf of bread...clumpy mess

Hi...
Yup check those belts. Also make sure the paddle spins freely when you spin it by hand. If the paddle does not spin freely, then the sealed bearing may be going bad. Hank

The paddle does not rotate

Hey Alex,
It could be 2 things. Take out the bread pan and see if you can spin the paddle by hand. If you can't then the sealed bearing on the bottom of the pan is frozen or failed. Fill the pan with warm water and soak it. If after a few times you still can't turn it, then it's history. New pan is needed. If it does spin freely then keep the pan out of the machine and run a kneading cycle. Look through the lid window to see if the motor shaft is spinning. If not it's probably the belt fell off or has snapped. Hank

I have been happily making bread for a while with my welbilt machine. I put ingredients in the other day pushed my usual buttons and nothing happened. I reprogrammed and after an hour it started to bake....

Hi,
Take out the bread pan and put the paddle on the shaft. See if it spins freely. If it does not spin freely it could be stuck, or the bearing is frozen.

If it spins freely, put the pan and paddle in the machine and start it up with nothing in it. If the paddle does not spin then it is either your drive belt is snapped or worn, or the motor is broken.

Hopes this helps,
Hank

Sunbeam 3500s

Hi,
It seems the kneading paddle isn't spinning. Clean out the pan and take it out of the machine. Put the paddle on the shaft and see it it spins freely. If it does not, then the shaft is stuck or the bearing is frozen.

Next keep the pan out of the machine and start the bread maker up. Look through the clear top and see if the shaft is spinning. If not then the drive belt is broken.

If paddle is okay, and belt is okay, then the motor is broken.
Hank
