My gateway will no turn on.

I press the power button, and it wont power up. The light on the motherboard shines green showing that it is getting power. I thought it was something from the power switch to the mother board that needs connected properly. I was on it defragmenting my hard drive, and my friend accidentally flipped the power switch off which powered the computer then it would power on, but would not go to windows. So I figured the hardrive blew. So I bought a new one. Now I would like to post this problem. I ask that someone answers this. It will help someone else out.

Have you replaced the Hard drive? If you did you have to reinstall the PC operating system and the CD is included when you purchased the PC. place the CD to your DVD?CD rom drive and just follow the PC instruction and input your information.

Your xbox 360 may not actually be on if there's no green light and your controller won't connect. If pressing the power button doesn't turn on the console/green light doesn't come on then your motherboard may be bad.

I have a Gateway 840 GM and I have just replaced
At first check the battery that's on you motherboard. The battery powers the bios on your motherboard. The bios detects you push the power button and turns on the pc. If the battery is dead the bios has no power, so it cannot detect you push the power button and will not turn on the pc. So replacing the battery will solve the problem. If the battery is not the problem, I think your motherboards bios is dead. Maybe it can be fixed but you'll have to send it back to the manufacturer I think.

Sounds like your power supply is not supplying 12v to the system. Check all your power connectors are seated properly on your motherboard, if so then i'm afraid you need a new power supply.

Gateway gt4010, wont power on.
The fan turning off will be the cause of the PC shutting down.
This could be caused by a faulty fan or bad connection to motherboard.
1. try reseating the fans power plug on the motherboard
2. if that doesn't help, try replacing with new fan.
3. if that doesn't work then most likely motherboard problem

Tv wont turn on
i had this problem myself, press the power button and when it goes green press it again but hold it for 10 seconds, then it should work fine mine did good luck :)x

Gateway computer 310 series wont power up when
It sounds to me like the power switch is plugged into the motherboard incorrectly. I would need to know the type of motherboard you have to get you the proper schematic for hooking up the power switch and reset switch to the board. If you have the manual to the motherboard, there should be a detailed picture showing you how it is to be hooked up. Please let me know the motherboard model for further assistance.

Gatweway lap top button light up, but wont turn on
I'm afraid this sounds suspiciously like a motherboard problem. It would help to know what model etc, as some Gateway & EMachine model laptops have had extended warranties due to motherboard issues, or just go to Gateway.com and research it yourself.
