Motherboard not recognizing RAM

I have a Mach Speed MS945G-GLV motherboard, and 4 sticks of 1G DDR2 RAM. Putting all 4 sticks in, the BIOS setup displays only 3Gigs of Ram (Windows XP displays the same). I tested the 4 sticks and the 4 ports, by putting 2 in at a time, and none of the sticks or any of the ports are mailfunctioning.

Re: Motherboard not recognizing RAM

If you're running XP SP2, that may be by design because of something Microsoft did in SP2.
Look at the following article for an explanation.

Re: Motherboard not recognizing RAM

Is it exactly 3gig of ram?
You may have 4 sticks in but your onboard peripherals share the memory.
as such my 512mg stick is in but it shows me only 482mg.
Take into account your onboards.
Hope this Helps

Sir mercury 945 system board interface with core 2 duo i want to set the bios set up

I am assuming that your question is how to access the bios for your pc. The most common bios entry is to hit the DEL button after switching on. If this does not work, try F2 or F1 buttons after switching on.
Other than these, I am unaware of any other methods for entering the BIOS.
Best wishes,

Need help, put in new mother board and need help putting in usb connection to front of computer have mach speed motherboard, does anyone have a map for this?

There are probably cables coming from the front of the computer. On the motherboard, you will see 2 or more groups of pins where these cables go. Unfortunately, sometimes the cables don't have a single plug, but have one plug that has 3 holes and then 1 that has one. Many times, too, there are 2 sets. So--let's see if this helps:
The pins will be labled something like USB and then several numbers.
The pins look like this ::::. (hope that shows up OK)
If your usb cable end has one large (3-hole) plug and one small, the large one goes over the first 3 pins from left to right. The one on the left is labeled VCC. The separate plug goes on the 4th pin.
You can use the top row of pins or the bottom. Nothing goes on pin #5 on the bottom.
Does this help? If so, rate it accordingly, please.

2G Memory Upgrade

I had similar problem with CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

If this is your RAM:
Corsair 1024MB Value Select PC2-4200 (533MHz) DDR2 RAM, 128Mx64non-ECC, 240-pin DIMM, Unbuffered, CL4, Lifetime warranty (VS1GB533D2) Then it is high density. You need low density to work, look for one ending with an 8, not 64.

¿Could it work with 2 Cards RAM of 1G/800? ¿Could PC work with this mother board and 2 Cards RAM of 1G/800?

That's a pretty big jumb from 667 to 800MHz. (Motherboard does not support 800MHz).
Manual says:
This motherboard accommodates two memory modules. It can support two 240-pin
DDR2 667/533/400. The total memory capacity is 2 GB.

Yet, ECS web site says it supports up to 4 GB.

BIOS for 945GCT-M/1333 (PCB:3.x) version 08/07/18 does not include information pertaining to increased memory speed up to 800MHz. (Bios link).

My computer wont start, no setup, no bios, nothing...

This is only a stab in the dark but are all your M/board fixing connected correctly
Hard drive etc.
One other way is to disconnect everything from M/board except for Video and memory and try to boot up if it does then connect hard drive etc one at a time rebooting each time until it will not boot that is the wrongly connected one

You might try to find a PCI IDE Card. That card should provide support for 2 or 4 drive. SASI (sp?, called sassi or scuzi at times) requires replacing the drives you have with scuzi drives.
Be sure it's a PCI IDE (EIDE) Card.
