Question about Sony Walkman NWZ-S616F MP3 Player

1 Answer

Will not charge

I had a similar problem with mine probably from dropping it too much. I dropped on the bathroom floor and the case popped open slightly on the top of the player. I snapped it back and thought nothing of it and later it would not charge. i got it to charge again by lifting the cover sligthly when plugging in the charging cable.

If the unit is not charging and it has been dropped, it would need to be serviced

As below

Take a look at the bottom of page 62. It has instructions for cleaning your bobbin basket (it holds the bobbin case), as well as how to get the case back in. There is a projection on your case on the lower right; that projection MUST rest against what is called (and pictured there in the bottom drawing) the cushion spring. The top of the bobbin case that goes under the needle is the only flat part. When putting in the bobbin case (mine are very similar), I have found it helpful to insert it slightly counterclockwise of the spring, making sure the case is flat in the basket, then twist it counter clockwise so that the projection is against that spring. While your case is out, be sure to CLEAN that area thoroughly with a q-tip (I put a drop of sewing machine oil on the two ends of the swab to help pick up lint), taking care to get under the lip of the bobbin basket, where a lot of lint can accumulate, and then put ONLY one drop of sewing machine oil in the hook race and the center where it is indicated in the manual. After you have replaced the bobbin case but before you have put a bobbin in it, turn your hand wheel TOWARDS YOU (ALWAYS towards you, for anything) several times to distribute the drop of oil. The race is between the outside of the basket, and the metal hook surrounding the basket, and the indicated place is the only place (with the needle all the way up) where you can get a drop between them. It's also possible that lint or other debris--like pieces of threads--are preventing the case from seating correctly.

I made a mistake and drop player on floor

It is possible that dropping your player on the ground or the floor, was not an aspect of device performance that the manufacturer thought to design into the device, unfortunately. You probably want to avoid doing this with most other electronic devices in the future. I had a similar problem and called the manufacturer, which told me that they would repair mine for the same price that I could purchase a new one.

Nexus 7 screen broken and back slightly popped

It sounds like the device is completely broken after dropping it. You may find a local repair shop or a shop online to fix the device, but it may be cheaper to replace it with a new one.

Hope that helps!

HELP MY HARD DRIVE HAS GONE!

Ok to understand this , you dropped a 1 TB hard-drive external hard drive on the floor? Well considering that it is a external, the cases in most externals are meant to take a beating as well as the hard-drive it self. There is two possiblities I can think of, what could of happened. When the Hard-Drive hit the floor, it could of is disconnected the connection on the hard-drive itself inside the casing, which you will have to pop it open and reseat it. Or the hardrive, arm inside the hard-drive it self snapped or is misplaced, which is unrepairable. Open up the casing and looking for the hardrive it self. Towards the back of the hard-drive is where the connection of th drive is, it is eather sata or orginal set up with his pins based. Take the connection off and put it back on and see if that works, if it didnt, best advise would be is take in in and have the drive tested, see if its still operable.
