Miele S 7000 no suction but not clogged - Miele Vacuums

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Miele Vacuum. There are a few things you can check to restore suction to your vacuum.

1. Your suction setting is too low or the automatic setting is not registering properly.

2. The filters are too clogged. They need to be cleaned or replaced. Without proper air flow, your vacuum will have either decreased or no suction.

3. Vacuum hose is not air tight. If the hose or any other portion of your vacuum is leaking air it will diminish or completely abolish all suction.

4. The roller is clogged. If everything else has failed, flip over your vacuum and check the roller. If it is too clogged with hair and debris your vacuum will not be able to pick anything up. Simply remove the gunk and try starting up your vacuum again.

I have seen generic filters do this. Be sure to use original Miele filters. The generics are a few dollars cheaper to buy but you end up with an inferior quality filter that could cause other problems by continued use. same is true with bags.

A clogged filter may also do this. Miele vacuums are very tightly sealed, the exhaust air has to come out. If the filter is clogged, the pressure could pop the filter out, HEPA filters are suggested to change out about every 50 hours, for most people this is between 1 - 1.5 years.

We had a Miele come in for service the other day with the same complaint, installed filter was a generic, customer said it was a new filter just installed. We replaced with an original filter and problem ceased.

I would check all of the Air Filters. On some models there are more than one and if one gets clogged then it will cause you to have no suction.

i about to say that's always a clog of some sort that causes that

Check all the filters as well. We have dogs and the hair clogs up the filters. We take a air hose threw our vacuum once a month and it works like new again without replacing anything

Wow!, that's not typical of a Miele, especially a new model like the Titan which has been on the market for less than 2 years. If I read this correctly, your power nozzle (electric head) is working, but the main suction motor is not. Thta's usually a sign that the carbon brushes in your suction motor are stuck or too short. Again, not a common problem with Miele. A clog could cause your machine to run hot from reduced airflow and then shut down until it cools, but it would shut the whole machine down, not just the suction motor.
Is your power dial, (located just forward of the main switch and cord retractor buttons) set to minimum? If so, you just might not be getting enough suction. If, after turning the dial to maximum, you still get no suction, then you should definitely take it back to the dealer you bought it from. You have a 7 year motor warranty and a 1 year warranty on all non-wearing components. If you bought your vacuum on the internet then you can go to www.mieleusa.com and search for a local dealer. Either motor is clogged with dust or suction hose is clogged, replace bad also.
