The light inside is burned out do we need a new insert

I would first Google the model number with "remote" to see if you can locate one on the internet.

SOURCE: GW-2078, makes a high pitch noise when fan is running, how can this be corrected, other than that it works fine

Without me physically hearing the noise I can't be certain but it sounds like a bad bearing from what you described. I would try spraying a little WD-40 or some type of lube. If that doesn't work then the fan motor may have to be replaced.
