I expect that this is controlled by your ipod, not the Kenwood. I suspect that when you did the upgrade, it has reset the player to default settings and start from the beginning each time. Go through the setting on your ipod and see if you can find it.

To the right of the six preset buttons on the face of the unit is a small small concave reset button. Push this to reset the entire unit. You will lose all your setting and the protection code will also be reset. The factory default is not to use the security code, but I recommend setting it to something you remember because this happens often enough on Kenwoods.

Press and hold the reset button (very small concave button to the right and below the main knob) You will have to set up everything on the unit because this will wipe the settings. It will also set the unit to the default of not using the security code. I recommend setting a code so if it locks accidentally, you know what the code is. There is no factory default for this on Kenwoods...it is user programmable.
