My computer is about two years old. i bought it from a retailer who has since closed business. the computer has an alarm that sounds from the harddrive area. it is a dull two tone alarm but quite loud. it seems to be triggered by certain website pages (nothing specific). it has made this alarm for about a year and approximately every 10 minutes. my husband won't buy a new one and i am ready to throw it down the front stairs. if you have any idea how i can turn this off (or even down) it would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Gen

If it is coming from the PC speaker - you can simply unplug it.

Open the case - and look on the motherboard for a set of black and red wires... near the bottom.
Unplugging this speaker will stop the noise.

In this example... it is under the blue/white and black/white plugs.

How do I turn up the volume on timex ironman watch alarm?

If the spring is missing, you can wind a temporary one out of extremely fine coil wire around a sewing needle . If watch case is closed and alarm does not sound try stretching the coil slightly. If alarm comes on keep stretching coil a bit further to see if alarm gets louder. Similarly, coil may be too long if alarm does not go on. Then gently squeeze coil a little smaller and put case back together again to check alarm. If it is too soft then squeeze the coil a little more.
There is definitely a sweet spot for coil length whether hand made or store bought. Lots of fiddling but it works.

I have a 57 civic hatchback and for no reason the alarm keeps going off randomly mainly at night. Some nights is fine but once it goes of I can set the alarm watch it from inside for a few minutes and it...

1957>??? really?

all alarms are a box with a processor in it, a computer, or puter.
the alarm brain.
so like all computers, garage in , nets you,? garbage out.
called GIGO, in the business.
on newer cars 07+? they will tell you what is wrong, using a scan tool
but many old cars , (my big beef) will not. (best is to kill it forever )
(imagine, all 6 billion cars on earth all with false alarms, a world H3LL that , huh) mines off all the time. nobody listens to them. ever.

fixing old alarms with out my special tools is very very hard.
if lucky , inspect all sensor wires, then replace all switches.
old switches fail and for sure 1957 LOL !!!!!!
in my shop I have a voltage (and others) data logger.
i can connect my logger up and then beat up the doors.
rattle them, even drive and see them mess up.
it logs to a flash card.
old wiring and parts on old cars, all fail.
due to wear and corrosion or water ingress.

some alarms have shake switches, that can tip.
the FSM for your, explains all this if alarm is stock.
nah 1957 hand none. right?
the FSM book covers all tests of the alarm.
get one.
if car is not really 1957
then login to alldata.com and see your stock alarm
if not stock , then post all sticker data on side of it.
or photo it and post it.

tell more get more ,like WHAT CIVIC EXACTLY, there are sub models.

cd players have their laser fail often. How old is it? A three year run with a player is not bad.

My friend say he couldnt hear me on my xfire when i was using the platetronics 367 closed ear gaming headset

That headset, as you know, has the two 3.5mm leads to connect up to your computer. You want to make sure the device is selected in the "Input AND Output" fields. If you have already checked you computer sound card connection and made sure it's working properly, then you may have broken strands of wire in your microphone cable. If it's less than a year old, take it back to your retailer for warranty replacement or call Plantronics at 800-544-4660 x5 x5538 for warranty service.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

Bought a 98 Nissan Maxima 3 days ago...first car for our 16 year old. Service engine light came on auto parts store hooked up to computer and told us it needed two 02 sensor & knock sensor. The next...

Connect battery>>>>try unlocking the vehicle from the inside (door closed), using the power un/lock button. Make sure the key is set to the "on" position. Most of the time this works. If this doesnt work, try using the key to lock and unlock the door through the key hole. Hopefully this helps!!

Jagged lines on paper

You did not say how much printing you do. A year old printer that is heavily used can have quite a buildup of ink. It may need the entire paper path and mylar strip professionally cleaned. It's not a big deal, but the printer covers do have to be removed. This is best accomplished by an Epson Certified technician, usually employed by one or more of your computer dealers or sometimes office supply retailers.

If you bought the printer locally, I'd first try there. If you purchased it from Epson Direct or from another online retailer, try Best Buy, Office Depot, or perhaps Staples. If they do not provide such service themselves, they may have a recommendation for a reputable business that does.

Trying to replace the remotes for my car alarm

it is possible, you need to find an audiovox retailer first. then you MUST know the model number of your specific alarm. then retailer or installer can find you new compatible remotes, but you or them will have to find manual for your model to get your alarm"brain" to properly "learn" the new remotes. it is always a very specific procedure, not universal to all alarms.
