SOURCE: battery runs dowm when parked for 24 to 36 hours?
take the bulb out of light under hood and see if it still goes dead .
SOURCE: Temp Alarm going off, when freezer seems to be cooling fine.
You need to check the temp in the freezer to make sure it's down to around 10 degrees. The alarm will go off much above that.
As the beef was already frozen when it went into the freezer it should take just a few hours for the cabinet temperature to stabilise at the temperature the thermostat is set to and for normal cycling to begin.
Checking the temperature is a good place to begin. For the safe long term storage of food, especially meat, the interior should be minus 18 to minus 25 degrees C or between zero and minus 10 degrees F.
If the system isn't cycling because the cabinet isn't cold enough to cause the thermostat to cut the motor off there is something wrong with the refrigeration unit such as a refrigerant leak. Maybe the insulation is damaged...
If the cabinet is colder than ideal the thermostat has probably failed. Turning it down should switch the motor off and then turning it back up should restart it.
Or maybe the thermostat is set too high for cycling to take place.
Buy yourself a quality thermometer and check the temperature - first!
I appreciate your inquiry, friend!
Based off what you have described your Frigidaire freezer is displaying an error code of 36 hours. Normally it will display that once power has been restored, it is indicating that the freezer has been without power for 36 hours. Hold the "alarm reset" for 3 seconds and that should help clear out the code. I hope this is helpful. -Matt
