* That "resistor" is called a "thermal fuse" or High limit fuse.
* It senses abnormal thermal conditions that exceed safety conditions set by the device MFR.
* These are like "Fuses" which needs replacement if blown.
* BUT, before this fuse is replace you must identify the reason why it blew in the first place.
* The thermostat controls may be shorted out.
* Heating element ma be shorted or "grounded" to case (shorted)
* Wires melted and shorted causing overload (to fuse).
* 8.5 manual;
* Check all components.
* Call vendor for part(s)
