go to your master volume and un mute the mic, if you cant see the mic settings go to the top laft where it says options click it then click properties go to where it says( show the following volume controls ) then click the box that says mic volume, then click the un mute on the master vol..
There are no volume control buttons or other types of shortcut buttons to speak of. As I said before, just the bare essentials here.

go to start menu -> control panel -> sound and audio devices. you will find volume control. or another method is just click on the volume icon which is located at the right bottom of your windows desktop.
