SOURCE: Ventilation question regardingHAIER HLP140E

Hi I own this dryer and you have two choices for venting it. One reason I originally bought it is because you can run it safely without venting it to the outside. That's a huge plus for many small apartments or a dorm room etc. For that option you purchase a 'ventless' kit from Lowe's or Home Depot, can't remember the exact cost but definitely less than $20. It works very well, but will add some heat to your living space (nice if you're in NY, less nice in Miami). It didn't add a lot of heat to the space, but later on I ended up installing a vent through the outside wall (which was much easier to do than I thought) because I was doing some drywall work in that area anyway. That vent is also very inexpensive, maybe $10. The standard vent kit opening will be for 4" whereas this dryer's vent opening is 3" - but the dryer comes with a piece that makes the 3" to 4" transition for you. This is a very convenient unit because it only needs 110v (standard household outlet) instead of the usual 220 (or is that 240?). The main thing that will help you be happy with it is just to have the realistic expectation that it takes about twice as long to dry clothes (60-90 min) because it's on lightweight power. But it does a very nice job, and we love the little washing machine we got with it too!

SOURCE: I bought a brand new

http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/High-Limit-Thermostat/DW-7350-04/1220912 is probably what blew from overheating and will need replaced.

I would also recommend that if you don't have an exhaust system going to the outside you purchase on of these: http://www.amazon.com/Dundas-Jafine-TDIDVKZW-ProFlex-Indoor/dp/B000DZFTC6/ref=pd_bxgy_k_text_b

Dryers require that there be an exhaust or they will overheat.

The bad news is that since that is covered in the users manual it might not be covered under warranty. But since it is brand new you might try returning it.

SOURCE: Haier HLP140E clothes dryer heat

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

HOW DO I PUT DRUM BELT ON A PORTABLE HAIER DRYER I HAVE ORDERED THE BELT IT CALLS FOR FROM HAIER COMPANY TWICE AND IT IS STILL TOO LONG MAYBE I AM PUTTING IT ON WRONG help please

Your idler pulley will take up the slack in it. It won't be real tight any way once on. If there is still a lot of slack when ou turn it on and the drum doesn't turn, then take it back. Take the old belt with you so that it can be matched uproperly.

Remove the lint trap. There is a bolt in the center. Remove bolt. Remove screws from crossbar and you can then replace the belt. I removed sensor and lifted drum out makes it easier. Pay attention to how black belt is thread if removed

I have a hlp140e and there is a red belt in it that broke, i want to know where i can find a replacement part, or what the part number is.

I found the red belt online at APWagner.com

The replacement part is WP-0350-37

You may also want to order the piece of felt that this belt lays on in the back so it doesn't rub against the drum. The felt is WD-2780-04 and I also ordered this at APWagner.com

My portable haier dryer (HLP140E) has a bad odor. I got it brand new from Walmart. It was happening with the portable washer (Haier HLP21E) too but that has seem to have faded. I've used the dryer a few...

No any smell coming from a dryer is not "normal," no matter what anyone tries to tell you. I would seek a replacement model immediately. You are not the first to complain about this model. Likewise, I would seriously consider a replacement for the washer as well, even though the smell has diminished. I hope this helps and good luck!
