I need a replacement cooling fan for a Gateway Model CX210X. Cannot find one anywhere.

Already checked the two listed sites. Any other ideas for a replacement fan?

  • ptdennen Jul 24, 2009

Does it matter that the model # listed for the part is CX200. The Model # I have is CX210X. The reason I ask is that on the second link you sent me, the second cooling fan looks like the unit I need to replace but the 3rd pictured unit has the CX210X model designation. Are they interchangeable?

Need assembly instructins and pictures for Gateway CX210

This is a link to a free Service Manual for the Gateway CX200 series of Notebook PC's,
(Which the CX210X is part of),

http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-gateway

Go down to the heading - Gateway Convertible Notebook, and left-click on the blue - CX200
next to it.

After you click on the file name (CX200) it may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.
It may also take additional time for the PDF file to fully download.

{The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
I would recommend Adobe Reader X {10} if you do not have this version )

Replaced the mother board in the gateway cx210x tablet laptop and now it will not run off the ac power. Takes days to charge the battery for 20 minutes use. Is there a possible connection I missed when...

If it takes days before fully charge? Have you tried replace your battery or just borrow from a friend battery with the same value? Standard charging for battery is only 12 hours. But more that 24 hours charging is not quite good to your battery.

Please click this link to read more information about battery tips and safety.

Gateway cx210x notebook: screen flicering and becoming pinkish

hi there, it may be that your cable connecting your monitor to the computer is being wiggled loose. You need to leave this to the pros as this can't be explained over the internet. You need to bring it to a computer shop for them to reconnect the computer. Tell them that the monitor cable is being severed from the graphics card.

Replace DC power plug on Gateway CX210X laptop

Ok I just did this on my Gateway it is a different model though. I am not sure where you are stuck so I will start from the beginning. Remove all the screws from the back, then remove all the components (hard drive, cd rom, network card, battery etc.) beneath these components are more screws remove them. I do not know if you have removed your keyboard if not there are screws attatching it to the motherboard on the bottom remove those mine had three in various places like by the network card and dvd rom. If you are unsure consuly gateways website there are instructions for removing your keyboard. Beneath the keyboard there are more screws you will need to remove the monitor adapter in the rear unplug it from the motherboard and beneath it there are more screws. When you think you have removed them all gently pull on the motherboard from every side if it moves freely on eachside you are ready to dislodge it from the casing. If there is a location that is still firmly in place inspect that area from the top and bottom you should be able to locate the remaining screw.
The mother board does not slip out once all screw are removed it is lodged firmly in the case especially by the fan vent you have to coax it out.

I need to know which fan i need for my pc

This heatsink & fan assembly is the replacement for the Gateway 500SE & E-machine systems.
http://www.skyline-eng.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=5564
Under the window: Search by Machine click the dropdown menue & choose as follows.
Type: Gateway Desktop Parts
Series: 500
Model: Gateway 500SE Parts
Than click submit.
Click, Cooling Fan.
More socket 478 CPU fans.
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=CR099&cat=FAN

http://www.pacificgeek.com/product.asp?c=238&s=997&ID=39966&P=F
Most CPU fans come with the heatsink. Try not to buy a fan that comes with a grill over it. That slows the fan down & makes the fan work harder.

Good luck!

Loud noise

Typical problem in most computers, the fan is experiencing a "burn out." This means there is either something caught in the fan causing it to create noise, or the motor is going bad. there are two fixes for this problem.
1) open you computer's case according to its manual and remove the system cooling fan and give it a thorough cleaning.
2) you may need to replace the cooling fan with its recommended replacement model.

Hope this helps!
