SOURCE: Freezer defrost LG american style

Defrost the unit for two days with the doors open...I know you're going to lose your contents. You may have ice on the coils internally. Next make sure you've cleaned the external coils under the unit. Leaving liquids open inside the unit or setting it colder than required will both cause issues like the ones you've got. Also, be sure all air vents inside the unit are unblocked and the door closes tightly all around.

  • Press the light switch (the one that the refrigerator door presses every time you close the door) 5 times within 10 seconds. OR
  • If the fridge has a filter button, press and hold it for 5-10 seconds.

SOURCE: Samsung american style fridge/freezer needs repairing

Spray a good quantity of WD-40 on the spindle of the fan motor where it enters the motor itself. This should get the fan working smoothly with no noise. This will probably solve the other problems, as the fan prevents various components from overheating and shutting down.

The freezer door on my Kenwood American style fridge door was left ajar and now there is frosting inside - how do I get rid of it?

Hi
The only way to get rid of the frost is to completely defrost your freezer ,I personally put a bowl of boiling water in the bottom of our freezer just to speed things up a bit
Hope this helps Nick

New American fridge freezer all plumbed in but not getting water

What is sad...

You expect a reasoned and well explained answer...
but have not given a clue as to the model... or features on the FRIG.

BIGGEST SINGLE CAUSE OF YOUR PROBLEM IS THE VALVE IS OFF...

Check that... then come back and repost if you hear the water valve thumping when you "TRIGGER" the water service...

Pretty please

Plumbing in fridge/freezer

That is the water inlet for the ice maker. It is 1/4 inch diameter and will need to connect to a valve of that size with 1/4 inch plastic or copper tubing.
