It won't boot up

go to the BIOS settings by pressing F2 or del key when you're on POST (exactly after you press the power button and the screen show up)
then look for "Boot device priority" that usually placed on Advanced Settings
Select the 1st boot device as your harddisk and then save&exit, restart your computer

Whn i on my accer/model no:kav60, its nt open. Just showing that"BOOTMGR IS Crompressed' press cntl+alrt+del for restart'" bt whn i press it, it restart bt show the message again, n i dont on it!

There is a problem with the Microsoft Registration and Boot Manager has gone into protect mode.
This can be caused by someone trying to hack into the start up menu or just shut down incorrectly or even a corrupt file.
As the notebook finishes POST press F8 and select repair system. POST is where the notebook shows the first screen, before it boots up.
Hope this helps.

I have Intel 845 series motherboard & I want to format my PC but when I put xp cd inside & restarts & press enter the boot doesn't start now how could i format ?

You have to change the BIOS settings to boot from your CD drive. It must have been set to boot from harddisk.
To do this you have to change the primary boot device from Harddisk to CD drive. When you restart your computer press DEL or F12 or TAB or F1(any one...Depends on your BIOS see manual or try all) to bring bios. In bios go to boot device priority and set the CD drive to boot first.
Restart your computer, it will boot from CD drive and XP setup will start.

Hope this will help...cheers:)

My cisnet computer keep reading disk errors.i tying to install window xp. it also system window 32 problems. is a missing files. how do you fix it?

u need to format using a windows 98 sec boot disc. place the floppy in to the comp. switch on the comp. let the disc run, making sure your bios is set to boot floppy first. when disc is finished setting type fdisk then when finished delete drive by pressing 4 .add drive when finished by pressing 1 and following the insturctions. when finished press crtl+alt+del let the comp, reboot the when the disk as finished loading type format c: press yes let it run press crtl +alt+del again then take out floppy disc and put in winpx . as this sounds like you have a virus in your registery

Ntldr is missing, press ctrl, alt and del to restart

the ntldr.sys file is used to boot your winxp, this should have got corrupted, or your boot sector in the harddisk should have got corrupted.

what file system was used on your harddisk ( Fat32 or NTFS)

if it is Fat32 then you can try this. boot your system with win98 boot cd or floppy. after booting insert your windows xp cd in the cd drive copy the file ntldr.sys from the i386 folder to the os root dir(usually the c:) you will receive a overwrite message. do the over writing. thats all.
now restart your system normally (harddisk). it should be fine.

if the file system is NTFS, i am sorry to say, if you dont know the admin pass, you will have to repair the installation with the winxp cd,

for this boot your system with the winxp cd, on the first screen, press enter( for a fresh installation), then press F8, now you will be notified that there is already a window installation, on this screen press 'R' to repair the installation. follow the online screen.

Actually this is a nothing but just a reinstall of the OS. you may have to reinstall most of the os updates. and a few softwares also.

Hope this helps you.
