if it has a hermetically seal unit ( fridges , cooler etc) it is not a job for a diy as it requires specialist gauges and fitting with some welding experience
If it wasn't blowing cold air before and after the recharge, it could be the thermo expansion valve.
The AC system is a sealed system. So if it is low on refrigerant it means you have a leak somewhere in the system. If there is no leak and you added refrigerant the system, it is probably overcharged.
Im assuming that the compressor kicks on. If it didn't you wouldn't have been able to charge the system.
The first thing is to check the freon, make sure the system is full, if its low then an evacuate and recharge is needed with oil and dye, then check for leaks, by recharging the system you will be able to find leaks and check the systems operation, this make sure the system is good and cold and compressor is good, its like a flat tire you cant find the leak until you fill it with air, good luck and hope this helps.
when the ac doesnt blow cold and the compressor pump doesnt click on ,this can only be done with the proper machine to remove the gas and weigh how much was taken out ,then oil recovery and a vacumn then recharge with the corerect weight of gas .
there are a few things that can cause this, A: if it doesnt blow at all your looking at a blower motor, B: if it is blowing but not cold it could be either a simple recharge of the AC system or you could have a bad compressor.
Do You mean air doesnt blow cold or fan doesnt blow strong. If you mean it doesnt blow cold that means you need to have a/c recharged. The reason it gets cold after being on the road for a while is because compressor takes time to cool freon when it is very low
Yes i have.
Have you tried a thorough cleaning of all coils etc first?
