I have a traulsen refrigerator model rri 1-32lput serial # 229000 6k ,can I recalibrate the temperature monitor it reads 10 to 15 deg higher than box temp

either the tstat or the starter pack is bad - I'd start off by replacing the starter pack with a all in one type. 1/3 horse size by supco. should have it at your local parts store.

the correct refrigerant is listed on the data tag where you find the model and serial number.

only way to get one is to call them at 1-800-825-8220. Give them model and serial numbers. There is nothing on line on their site.

We're having consistently high readings with ours, too. We've compared it with as many as two other units at various test sessions.

This monitor does not require recalibration for 2 years under normal usage conditions (approx 3x/day), at which time your monitor will display "CA." The unit should also be recalibrated if the monitor sustains damage due to blunt force (such as dropping) or exposure to fluids or extreme hot or cold temperature changes.

So, do we spend $10 plus postage and wait 3 weeks or more...or do we use the $10 toward a new one immediately at a Walgreen's a half-mile away? It's a nice unit and works well otherwise, so it's a quandry. I hate to toss it. Good luck.

Your temp sensor is most likely the trouble. It is reading a false temp so it keeps the unit running trying to reach set temp. I would go there first as it is much cheaper than replacing the controller.

You can go to traulsen.com and download the owners manual for your model and serial number. I did and it was VERY helpful to me. Let me know.
