The video calling applications only worl if you have a front camera on your phone, but third party apps like skype may support your main camera.

BBM ( blackberry messenger) could be a drain, especially with that many contacts pinging you all day long. Is your brightness on high? That is another big power drag. What apps are you running?
What themes have you installed? You can try reinstalling the OS. Check what applications are running on your device in the background, press the Menu key then choose Switch Applications. You will see the icons of each application there.
There are commonly four or five applications that will always be running (Messages, Call Logs/Phone, BlackBerry Messenger, Home screen, and the Browser; there are other third party applications such as Bee Jive, and BlackBerry Alerts which will also run in the background which you cannot close if you want them to operate). Make certain that the browser is NOT on an active webpage (open the browser and choose Menu > Close). Close any other applications that do not need to be running (the camera or a game you were playing or Google Maps).Also make certain BlackBerry Maps is not running in the background.
Do a simple reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Now, watch your battery use the next few days again and see how it goes. Make sure you close or exit ALL applications properly: If you just hit the red "end call" key to go back to the home screen the application actually stays open and running in the background. If you do this repeatedly you will have lots of apps open and consequently your memory will get used up. Lack of memory is the biggest reason your BlackBerry slows to a crawl or locks up. If you get into the habit of actually using the menu key to close the applications this will at least slow down this battery drain and memory-clogging process.

This error can be caused by many different issues. Try the following resolutions in order until your issue is fixed-

1. You should disconnect and reconnect the USB cable at both ends to ensure there is a secure connection on the device side as well as the computer side. It may also be necessary to try a different USB port on the computer. Additionally, you may need to disconnect other USB devices, temporarily, in order to determine if a conflict exists.

2. unistall and re-install drivers-
1. Place the CanoScan Setup CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. When the CanoScan Setup Utility menu appears, click the option to 'Uninstall the Software' and then follow the prompts.

3. Disable Third-party Software
Software applications that are active during installation can cause errors, installation difficulties and even abort the installation.*1 Close all running applications, including anti-virus programs, before installing Canon Software. You can also prevent these applications from starting through 'System Configuration Utility' (also referred to as 'msconfig') in Windows 98/Me, Windows XP and Windows Vista.

If your computer is part of an office network: Network permissions, security software, etc. may be interfering with proper communication. Please contact your System or Network Administrator before attempting to disable software on your system.

a. See your applications' documentation for instructions on how to close it.

b. If you are unable to locate the documentation or the application appears to be running after it is closed, disable the startup items in the Windows 'System Configuration Utility'.

c. If disabling startup items in 'msconfig' does not correct the issue, disable non-Microsoft related services in 'Services' tab of 'System Configuration Utility' window.

Webcam for vaio computer will not work with a thrid party messenger like yahoo if it is being used by another third party application.

1. uninstall any third party applications/messenger
2. reinstall the camera driver and software from esupport.sony.com
3. try to use the built in camera first by uisng its own software
4. if it will work, download and install your yahoo messenger and try to use the camera with it

Re-install the Web Cam:

Close all open applications on your computer and make sure your power cord is plugged into the back of the notebook.

1. Press ‘Alt + F10' to start eRecovery Management.
2. Enter default password of 6 zero's. Example: 000000
   (Note: if this default password does not work, then a different password has taken its place. Acer is not responsible for any forgotten or misplaced passwords.)
3. Select ‘Recovery Actions' and click ‘Next'
4. Select ‘Reinstall Applications/drivers' and click ‘Next'
5. On the left hand side of the newly opened window select the following: Windows XP
   ? Driver
   ?Camera
6. On the right side of the same window, click ‘Install Camera Driver Now'
7. The unit will reboot after the installation is complete

Hi,

In basic terms your computer speed depends mainly on two factors:
1:System configuration
2:Software which are running in background.

Your configuration is fine so check for unwanted third party software running in background.

Steps to check it out:

Click on start
go to run
type "msconfig"
go to "startup" which is on the TOP right corner.
The list which you see here are the third party softwares which start themselves automatically when your computer boots up.
Uncheck those ones you don't need to use all the time.(Even if you uncheck all of them, It won't harm your computer)
Then click on apply then close.
restart your computer
It will give you a message >> Check on don't show this message again and then click on "OK."

You will feel your computer running better.

NOTE: some softwares like NORTON, trend micro, Mcafee. These
can also make your computer slow and we can not disable them completely from above mentioned steps. We need to disable there services as well or remove them completely.

That software is not so reliable.
