Same Err message right out of the box. The correct phone # is 1-800-323-9519. They asked my problem, then said cut the plug off it, mail it with my problem, name, address and phone # and they would replace the unit. Gonna mail the plug this week and cross my fingers.
The Company is Jarden Consumer Solutions, 303 Nelson Ave, Neosho, Mo, 64850
Hope this helps somebody.

Err 99 message on canon 450d

CANON ERROR 99 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card. 3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes. 4. Insert a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera. 5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture. Does the "ERR 99' message appear? If it does, then the camera should be serviced. If it does not, then please proceed to the next set of steps: 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Insert the CF card. 3. Turn on the camera. 4. Format the CF card in the camera. 5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture. Does the "ERR 99' message appear? If so, then the CF card is the most likely source of the issue. Try using a different card. If the message does not appear, please complete the following steps: 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the camera body. 3. Reattach your lens. 4. Turn on the camera. 5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture. If the "ERR 99' message only appears when one particular lens is attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician. If you see the "ERR 99' with a different Canon lens attached, then the camera should be serviced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkXyLieNUDI - - - - - VIDEO & VOICE INSTRUSTION. Error 99

I turn on the power and before I can set the temperature I get a flashing "err" message and can't do anything.

You are not alone. We have the same problem. Unit worked fine for 2-3 years. We still have the manual. This is not a user error- we know how to use it. The sensor switch is fine- it would not power on without that working ok.

The red power light comes on, and when we turn it ON it says "200" for about 2-3 seconds... then "Err". Nothing is possible after that, the unit has to be powered off.

We can push Temp Mode and start setting the temp higher but after 2 seconds it just goes to Err. It does not matter what buttons you push- you don't have to push anything at all and it says "Err". Reset button does nothing- this is not a heat temp overload issue. This unit worked at Thanksgiving, and then not at Christmas! We tried powering it on 10-20 times... nothing. Then the next day as we were about to put the turkey in the oven I tried the fryer again... and presto it worked fine!!! Now today it does not work again. Tried it 10 times, no go. Unit was stored in pantry (in house) so it is not a cold/warmup issue. I think it is something messed up in the electronics- a weak solder joint, a bad chip, who knows. It's like the unit fails a "power on self test". Unfortunately, I do not have a solution yet. Don't want to buy another Masterbuilt for sure... only use this 1-2 times a year. Will share if I find anything.

Error 99 appears in pattern, every time

Not sure about the pattern of errors, but the advice for error 99 diagnosis is to try the following diagnosis steps to isolate the cause of the issue:-
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert only a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99" message appear? If so, the camera may be faulty and requires a service. If it does not, then: -
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99" message appear? If so, then the CF card is faulty. Try a different card. If the message does not appear: -
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the gold contacts on the lens by GENTLY rubbing them with a pencil eraser or soft cloth. Keeping the camera face pointing down, also clean the gold contacts on the camera, being careful that you do not let any debris fall into the camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

If the “ERR 99" message only appears when one particular lens is attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.
If you see the “ERR 99" with a different Canon lens attached, then the camera is faulty and should be serviced.

Error message

I don't know if this is the true answer or just works with ours, but if I hold the on button (for heating) and the program button together in a couple seconds it stops blinking and resets to the temperature mode. When that hasn't worked, it's also worked to hit the rest button in the back first and hold for a couple seconds and then hit the two buttons mentioned above together. However, each time I get the ERR message it gets harder and harder to reset. I would love for someone else to respond for the actual "fix" for this as it's looking to be the actual computer part of the thermastat to us and I'm wondering if it's worth fixing or shopping for a new fryer is needed for price. But, this has gotten us through for now to be able to fry again.
