Code 82 comes on when the oil life falls below 5%. It will turn on everytime you turn the car on, you can exit the code 82 by pressing menu. Don't reset the oil life until you actually change it. .

Easy steps to turn off Code 82.
Since it is a warning to change oil, it is telling you you need an oil change.
Step 1. Hit menu button until you get to the oil lamp
Step 2. Hold down Set & Clear button until it reaches 100%
That's it.
Step 3. Hit menu to go back to main screen
The code 82 goes on after 3,000 miles but the synthetic oil oil life is about 6000 miles if I understand correctly. So I rest with the first warning and then change with the 2nd code 82.

I read somewhere you have to turn your car off, then on, but don't start it. Depress the accelerator three times in five seconds, then turn the car off. That clears the error code.
