SOURCE: how to make 2 computers share a data base

really simple. just go to database maint on the client machine, then set it as a standalone system, but instead of 'localhost' for the server name, select the computer name or IP# of the server computer.

This looks like an SQL database issue. Call PCAmerica tech support and they should help you out. Unfortunately it is not toll free: 845.920.0888 Please comment back if they refuse.
You could also uninstall sql server and RPE and then reinstall them. You could have gotten a bad download the first time.

If you have no access to an administrative password, I doubt you want 3rd parties trying to "crack" the system to unlock it. Consider how that would leave the system open to abuse if achieveable. Beyond the threat of legal recourse, likely to cost more than whatever pcAmerica might charge, you are likely stuck.

YES! In option, setup, set it to manual express. You can then enter card in your other process. RPE treats it like a cash sale.

Kitchen staff can clock in but they cannot clock out because they do not have acces to pos system. How can they clock out without having access to pos system
Short and simple, they can't. However, you can get a cheap PC and monitor and load software on it and they can use the mouse to run screen for clockin and out. You don't need an expensive touch screen POS station. Used PC with XP PRO: $250 Additional RPE license: $250 Wiring or wireless setup: $100
You could probably do it for $600 yourself or add $100 and have a tech come in and setup.

As far as I know, there is no way to change the font settings in CRE (I hope you mean RPE). But, you may be able to change the default settings in the printer itself to get larger print. I am available for tech help if you need it, but you should have 3 months free support from PCAmerica with the purchase. I also do custom menu support for RPE. [email protected]
