Cylinder head gasket failure ?
if it was a piston failure the noise it would make would put a rock concert to shame
gasket failures are common on aluminum block engines due to hot spots developing from not flushing out dirty cooling water (river?) often and dirt builds up inside cooling jacket of block making for hot spots next time you run it , I now use a flir (heat) camera to see it happen live on older engines , I used to use a old thermometer that I touched in key spots when running , the camera works way better !!!! diagnosis in seconds not minutes with this tool
