If there is a power issue, will a faint light come on at power button and then get blue screen?

That sounds like an over-voltage shut down. Most modern TVs use a sophisticated power supply which feeds several well regulated(+/- .25% or better) , well filtered voltages to the electronic circuits. Typically, one or more filter capacitors fail, causing the voltage to rise. That will trigger the over-voltage circuit to shut down the unit.

1. When you press the power button to turn it on, do you see any thing on screen, like the toshiba boot up screen or something like that. Or is it completely blank (black color) always.

2. Can you see a faint image of your desktop (try to see it in dark place with flash light). This is important to confirm.

3. Also, when you press power button, do you see the LED lights on laptop blinking or solid green (which ones are in blinking/solid) and do hear any sound ? Or do you feel that your laptop doesnt even try to boot.

4. Can you hear any Beeps when you try to turn on the computer. If yes, what is the sequence of those beeps.

If you answers are -
1. blank
2. no image
3. only the satellite light is blue, the powercord is blue and the battery is blue
4. no noise

Please do the following carefully and let me know result :
1. Shutdown and Unplug your laptop.
2. Remove the battery from the laptop.
3. Wait 2-3 minutes
4. Now press ON (power button on laptop) for 1 minute
5. Then release the finger and wait one more minute.
6. Now plug in the power cable (dont insert battery yet) and press ON button.
7. Did your screen start working now ? (do you see windows loading)

Let it power on. If it plays the normal windows music then look very carefully at the screen. You may need a flash light. If you see a faint image then your inverter board or back light have burnt out. It will a small board 1 x 2 inches usually and have a small wire coming from the power supply and one going to the bottom or top of the screen.

1. Unplug your computer and remove the battery.
2. Press the power button several times.
3. Reattach the battery, plug in the computer, and press the power button.
4. If the problem persists, look closely at the screen. If you can make out faint, dim images, the backlighting components must be replaced or repaired. If not, it is likely another issue with the physical hardware of the machine such as the screen or the motherboard.

That would be a horn issue not an alarm issue

Try to go to the BIOS.If you can go there then restart and press F8 while boot and choose "last known good configuration..."

look close to the screen and see if there is a faint picture. if there is then read below for the issues and solutions that can cause this problem.

Issue 1: Lid button sticking

this is a common issue with this model that the lid button sticks closed. fiddle with it to see if it opens and the light comes on.

issue 2: Inverter for the monitor is bad

this is not to uncommon an issue when this problems shows itself. Laptops monitors light up with a fluorescent bulb. This is powered by an inverter. These can go bad and if they do the light will not turn on. you need to take this to a service station. i don't recommend trying to replace without knowledge of this. They are high powered and you can hurt yourself or damage the screen

issue 3: fluorescent bulb went bad

this is usually the least common but could have happened. usually happens when peopel spray their screen with cleaner and it drips down inside the bottom. This can be fixed by a service center but coudl get costly. best bet is buy a new screen.

Check fuse.
Is this a LCD, Plasma ect...
Do you have sound?
If LCD and you have sound use a flashlight, shine on screen check for faint picture. If you see picture the problem is the backlight has failed, check inverter board for blown fuse.

I would replace the control box assembly that is the most common issue with those TVs

my polaroid model #3200  does'nt come on!  the light goes from red to blue and nothing,the picture stays black with no flashing or flickering
