I have A 2002 chevy prizm, The headlamps stopped working.Checked fuzes, All are good. Changed bulbs, Still doesn't work. Thought maybe relay or switch,But relay clicks when I turn on headlamps assume it should and switch must be working. All other lights on car work fine.Wondering if someone may be able to point me in right direction to solve problem?

Low Beam
Voltage to the headlamp switch is available at all times from the HDLP SW fuse 7 through CKT 1940 (ORN). When the headlamp switch is turned to the HDLP position, the headlamp power relay coil is energized through CKT 352 (WHT). A signal is also sent to the body control module (BCM) that the headlamp switch is ON. When the headlamp switch is in the AUTO or PARK position, the ambient light sensor (located in the right speaker grill) senses either daylight or darkness and sends the signal to the BCM. When the Ambient Light Sensor detects a dark condition, the BCM produces a signal that will energize the headlamp power relay through CKT 352. The relay coil is grounded through terminal F7 connector 2 of the underhood fuse block to CKT 350 (BLK) to G102. When the headlamp power relay is energized the relay supplies power to the LT HDLP and RT HDLP fuses. The RH low beam headlamp receives current through CKT 198 (DK BLU) from the RT HDLP fuse. The LH low beam headlamp receives current through CKT 712 (YEL/BLK) from the LT HDLP fuse. Both headlamp low beam bulbs are grounded by CKT 525 (YEL) through the underhood fuse block to the multifunction switch (low position) contacts through CKT 10 (YEL) to the headlamp grounding relay in the body relay block through the normally closed contacts to CKT 1850 (BLK) to G200.
There is no relay for the headlamps on your Taurus . The lamps have constant B+ voltage , the fuses supply B+ right to the headlamps . The Voltage then travels to the dimmer an flash to pass switch on the steering column , then to the headlamp switch . When you turn on the headlamps the B+ voltage then goes to ground through the headlamp switch ! Pull the headlamp switch an test for B+ voltage on the red with yellow stripe wire . If you do your switch is bad . Go to www.bbbind.com/ for free wiring diagrams , then go to youtube an check out videos on headlamp not working trouble shooting ! From practical experience I'd say there is a problem with the headlamp switch , but don't guess test !
Hi Ryan, check the fuse to the low beam, if your not getting power to the relay it will never work, the fact that you have 3 new relays they can't all be duff
I don't believe that the lighter has a relay in it's circuit. My best guess is that the lighter element shorted out, causing the fuse to blow. The lighter part that you pull out of the socket can be disassembled by unscrewing the knob. The element (part that glows red) can be replaced. Any auto parts store should have one. Best regards, --W/D--
Using a multimeter first test the fuses & relays then test the hot and ground wires at the bulb socket. Finally test the power wire at the input and output of the switch. From what you say you have already checked it sounds like a faulty switch.
Ok, locate the relay panel (probably inder the hood) and find the relay that controls the headlamps. With your headlight switch "on", pull the relay and see if your getting a hot current to the connectors in the relay panel. If it's hot, replace the relay. If no current, it's probably your headlight switch.
