I replaced the clutch. Powered on and pulled the pto switch. All ran and engaged for brief period. The wires got wrapped around and pulled thus stopped working.

If you are lucky it only pull the connect apart as it can rip the wires right out the clutch coil itself requiring another new clutch assembly.
Here is a picture what that anti rotation part looks like. PN 532195804. A $4 part if purchased locally. It slips through the right hand side frame and into a hole on the clutch assembly. You will find mounting marks on the frame as where the old one was.

I have a Husqvarna Z254 zero turn. After one use, the blades won't disengage.

The clutch has a two wire flying lead. For the clutch to remain powered after disconnecting the cable at the clutch (blue/black) implies someone has modified the original factory wiring. See attachment.

Comment for further assistance.

The PTO clutch is powered from the A1 (accessory 1) terminal of the ignition switch via the PTO switch. Check for power or lack there of at the PTO electical connector and work way back through PTO switch and ignition switch.

Blades will not engae on a husqvarna 42 inch riding lawn mower

It sounds like you could have a bad seat switch or maybe a loose wire at the pto switch or loose connection at the two wires going to the clutch. To check to see if you have current to the clutch, first check to see if your battery has at least 12 volts. pull the two wires apart going to the electric, then start the tractor then with a vom meter check for from 9 to 12 volts at these two wires anything less the clutch won't kick in. If you have voltage then you have a bad clutch or it needs adjusted. If you don't have voltage then you could have a bad pto switch. Also check your seat switch to be sure it is good. Good luck, hope this helps..

I have a 2005 poulan pro 42in 24hp riding mower, blades wont engage when pto switch is pulled

You should have a two wire plug that comes up from underneath near the front where the machines engine crankshaft is. Normally the wires are one colored red the other black with the key in the run position engine (OFF) there should be battery voltage or close to it. Which can be measured with a voltmeter. With the PTO switch in the on position. If you have voltage you have a bad electric PTO if no voltage then you'll have to check voltage to and from the switch itself. Someone should be sitting in the seat to perform the test for on many machines the safety switches won't allow the PTO to be engaged unless someone is on the machine. A wiring diagram would help you trace the wiring to the switches and PTO much easier.

Husqvarna YTH2348 - blades wont engage, everything else is working, checked fuse, usually hear clutch when pulling switch.now nothing.pls. any advise will help

there is an electric clutch, also called a PTO, which is on the lower end of the motor's drive shaft. If you look underneath the mower in the front you will see it, a belt is on it which goes to the deck and spins the blades. The PTO has an inline fuse which could have blown, unfortunately it is generally caked in old cut grass, spilled oil, and belt wear residue. You are going to have to get some light down there and take a long look at the PTO, find the wire coming from it, and follow it until you feel a bump in the wire, like a cat being digested inside a snake. Clean the bump well and you will see that it is really an in line fuse holder and you can take it apart and replace the fuse if it is bad. Having said that, when a fuse goes, it goes for a reason and that is generally the PTO is failing and shorting or drawing way too much current. The fuse is a safety valve. But it may get you through the cutting and you can call a mower repair shop and have them replace the PTO.

Husqvarna YTH 2448 mower PTO switch is getting hot and melting the plastic internal parts. Any ideas on what is causing the overload? The mower deck will shut off when the switch melts and the push/pull...

The problem with an electric cluch is that when the engine is running without the clutch engaged the clutch can turn into a dynamo which then passes power back up to the switch, most machines will have a diode close to the clutch in the wireing to stop the current flowing back to the switch, so i guess the diode is bad on your machine and power is flowing back to the switch and melting it,
