Right front wheel bearing needs replacing,I see where the 2006 model is recalled for this problem, not the 2005?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Check with your dealer...they will run your vin # and see if the recall pertains to your vehicle. It is likely that in '06, they may have gotten a "bad run"of bearings or changed sources and gotten something less than expected when doing so.

Not sure if recall for 2005 models, I have one and the front bearings are packed in a hub, you have to remove the wheel, caliper and base and behind the hub theres 3 5/8" bolts, remove them and you will have a complete assembly removed.

Instructions on replace wheel bearing on 2005 f150 2wd front wheel

Johny brown is wrong.... the 2005 ford f150 2wd requires a rotor/bearing assembly it is really really easy to change...... jack it up remove wheel, 18 mm wrench to remove caliper mount... then remove spindle cotterpin and nylon nut (26mm? ) with any luck the rotor/bearing /hub will pull right off ...if not a make shift lever/puller should do the trick.... I actually had a bearing frozen on the spindle that i used heat and a small 3 jaw puller to get the bearing free.... if everything goes smoothly you should be done in less then 30 min

I have some either brake rotor or front wheel bearing issues? how do i tell the difference in a rotor issue or wheel bearing issue? i have some noise coming from my front drivers wheel, i took the pads off...

no recalls that I know of, but you can always call the dealer, give them the VIN number and they can tell you of any outstanding recalls.. if you have thep ads off in your hand an spin the wheel and you hear grinding noises, then I would say the bearing is bad.

I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS INVOLVED IN REPLACING THE FRONT WHEEL HUBS ON A 2005 MUSTANG THE FRONT RIGHT IS STARTING TO GRIND PRETTY BAD WHEN I MAKE RIGHT TURNS.

looks like they have a sealed bearing and are sold as a bearing hub assy for about $140. to replace it remove the wheel, then the cotter pin and nut in the center of the hub. then pull the hub/bearing off. this is easier said than done but with penetrating oil, hard work, and a large hammer you should be able to remove it.

2003 chev. silverado2500hd, abs goes off, pulsates when stopping

Gm has tech service bulitens on this issue.First the abs sensors can and should be removed, inspect the sensor mounting surface for rust (clean w/ sandpaper) insp the sensor (note the sensor may break w/ trying to remove so be gentlel) if all looks ok reassemble and test drive. if unwanted abs still persists both hub bearings should be replaced (call your dealer and ask if a special policy exsits for this condition) usually no abs code w/ be present Good luck Ray..
