It is a mode that it stores what I'm writing, but not printing. I have no manual. How do I get it back in regular, normal typing mode?

First check check the pitch selector switch to be sure it is not in proportional spacing. if it isn't push down on it and see if it goes away, if is goes away the keyboard needs repaired.

Space all the way to the right press and hold the tab clear ket, press return, all the tabs should clear. Space to the points that you want tabs and press tab set. To clear an indivual tab tab to that position and press tab clear. DickyO

I have a Swintec 8016 that doesn't have a "print" key. How do I print stored files?

Hi Linda, Once upon a time, I worked on Swintec typewriters. When you speak of printing do you mean to an external printer or just allowing the thy writer to to type out of memory? What kind of printer, what type of external port. Did it ever work? With what printer? I,m not familiar with this particular typewriter , give me as much info as you can , I mean anything you can think of . The smallest detail can tip the scale. You stated there is no print key, that tells me there must be an alternative way to print. let me know what you find out. If you can take a picture of the plug ports on the back and the keyboard, in this case a picture is worth more than words! Good luck. Bret... My Swintec 7040 when I type a letter or word only write a half of the letter or the word and when I try to erase a letter or word the typewriter erase this but the erase ribbon stay in the same position...

There are a few possibilities. If only the tops are printing Press down on the platen to be sure it is fully seated in the side frame. The T/W may be in the overstrike ribbon mode Code period, comma or slash will get you out of that mode.

How can I set ALPHA on Swintec 8016

If you are saying it prints the wrong letters check the pitch slide switch on the L. side it should be in 10 or 12 not PS. If this isn't the problem I'll need a better explanation.

How do I program my Swintec model 2640 typewriter to store information so that I can save it and press a key to automatically type the stored information?

The instructions to do this are located in your User Manual under "Create Text file" and "Print text file." It is too lengthy to write here. Check your manual, or if you don't have the manual, you can download one for $10.00 at www.typewritermall.com

Need to change the font size

you would have to buy a new printwheel and change the pitch setting (which is a switch on the left side of the keyboard tha has 10, 12, 15, PS printed next to it) or just changing the pitch setting may get you the desired results. it won't hurt anything to change the settings, it just changes the spacing. The PS setting only works on a PS printwheel, any other kind will just print the wrong letters.
