Most carburetor problems now days are caused by using gasoline with alcohol in it. It is very caustic and causes the idle (smallest) jets in the carburetor to plug up so the engine will not idle properly. The only fix that I have been successful with was to take the carb apart and run a small wire through the jet to open it up and then used only gasoline without alcohol in it. There are typically a few stations in towns which still sell that type of gasoline.

I have a husqvarna 440 chainsaw I installed a new carb on it and.now I can't get the primer bulb to prime gas what gives?

https://www.partstree.com/models/440-e-husqvarna-chainsaw-2008-05/

The link shows components of the saw.

Three fuel lines...

1. Fuel tank dip tube (fuel filter) to siphon side of primer bulb

2. Primer output to carb in.

3. Fuel return to tank.

Likely you have reversed the primed bulb lines.
Disconnect the line from the primer bulb to the carb. If you have the correct connection from the tank to the primer bulb, fuel will spurt out the bulb as you press the bulb

If no fuel, move the line at the primer bulb to the other primer connection. Press primer bulb a few times and fuel should spurt out bulb.

If still no fuel then a problem with the fuel tank dip tube or plugged filter

Why won't my chainsaw prime?

if no gas will enter priming bulb at all I see only a few possible things for this
(1) gas line broken/melted
(2) filter looks good but has internal plug
(3) primer bulb has a small crack in it (most common )

I've got a poulan wild thing. That was running perfect until the primer bulb got a hole in and was leaking fuel. I went and got a new bulb, and in a hurry and stupidly put it in backwards. Pumped it u

You should have hurt anything, just remove and reinstall properly. Kind of hard to do this, but I guess its possible. If the new one is damaged get a new one. All it does is retain a small amount of fuel and always you to prime the fuel system

How do i serviced the fuel system on the OZPCS305A chain saw

first check for split in Primer bowl.
Check to see if Heaver fuel filter in the tank broke off the end of the gas line. That's typical with this horrid Ethanol Gas.

181 se chainsaw. runs for 30 sec then dies. new fuel new carb kit, completely cleaned, new plug

Check the fuel line going into the tank for holes or tears. When you get it to run for the 30 sec. it is running off the prime from the bulb. Once it is running it should be sucking gas through the fuel line to keep it running. A hole or tear in the fuel line will cause it to **** air and die out.

Leaks gas probloms strating

check your fuel line to the primer or the primer bulb. if it is leaking you will not prime properly and won't run properly due to sucking air instead of fuel.

My chainsaw (Homelite UT10514) will not prime fuel. I have changed the primer bulb and checked the fuel lines for damage, they seem to be in good shape.

You need to make sure the lines are connected properly to the bulb. Also, if the carburetor diaphragms are not working properly the carburetor will not prime.

Need to replace all gas lines

  1. Empty the fuel tank on the chainsaw of any remaining fuel. Pull the cap from the tank and turn the unit upside down. Drain the fuel into an approved fuel container. If the fuel is old (more than about a year) dispose of it according to local regulations for hazardous materials. (It can be kept longer by adding a fuel stabilizer.)
  2. Pull the fuel line where it attaches to the carburetor using the end of the needle-nose pliers. The old fuel line may take some force to pull free from the metal tube.
  3. Push on the fuel line to feed it into the fuel tank. Hold the chain saw upside down. Shake the unit to get the fuel filter into the opening of the tank. Pull the filter free of the tank. Feed the remaining fuel line through the access hole at the bottom of the tank. Dispose of the filter and old fuel line in accordance with disposal regulations.
  4. Feed one end of the new fuel line into and through the bottom access hole of the fuel tank. Push approximately 6 to 8 inches into the tank. You can pull back any excess line later. Grab the end of the plastic line with the needle-nose pliers. Bring the line through the gas tank fill opening.
  5. Attach the new filter to the end of the new fuel line. Feed the filter back into the fuel tank. Pull any excess line from the tank. You will want approximately 3 to 4 inches of fuel line inside the tank.
  6. Route the new fuel line to the carburetor. Cut the line to length with the cutters on the needle-nose pliers. Attach the line to the metal tube.
  7. Fill the fuel tank with fresh gas-oil fuel for 2-stroke engines and start the chainsaw. It may take a few pulls to prime the new line with fuel.
  8. Some models come with a priming bulb. Make sure you press the priming bulb three to four times before trying to start. This will prime the gas lines and remove any excess air trapped in the lines.

Can't start my Poulan Woodshark Model 1950

Replace the fuel filter. Sounds like you have the primer lines hooked up backwards.
