maybe not. it could be that the heating cycle is taking a lot of time to remove the ice from the evaporator that is why the electronics is shutting off the compressor as a protection. check the heating cycle if it is working fine. check the evaporator for dirt that would hold the ice slab from falling down quickly. check the level of the unit. it may have move and now its out of level. the unit must be leveled with the ground.

have you got the equipment to change this solenoid valve? you will need a vacuum pump to evacuate the system once you have changed the valve, and the equipment to charge the system with refrigerant (gas).

WHY scotsman iec machine shuts down on the refridgeration light ON CM3 CONT

Is the machine producing ice thick enough to come off the evaporator plate? the machine will try to harvest 3 times before it locks out on long harvest. Harvest cycle: The compressor and hot gas valve are both powered during the harvest cycle. The fan and pump are off at this time. The machine stays in the harvest cycle until the evaporator thermistor senses 52 DEG F. If the bin is not full, the unit goes into another freeze cycle. I would check the Thermistor

Sce170a-1a wont harvest

This machine has a cube size control. Which tells the machine when to go into a harvest. there is a harvest switch did you try to force it into a harvest and if you did, did it harvest. depending on ambient temperature from start of freeze cycle to harvest it should be making ice every 15 to 18 minuets and then go into a harvest. so start the ice machine and time it , run it for 18 minuets and force into a harvest. after ice drops check the ice bridge thickness. Bridge thickness should be about 3/16'' the ice dimple must not be DEEPER than 1/16". If this is good then we need to look at what is not working to harvest ice. The cube size control is a reverse - acting thermostat that controls the start of the timed freeze cycle. It must be set properly to prove the correct size cube bridge. When it is closed, an indicator light on the control board will be on. If you force it into a harvest and it harvest the ice with no problems and the ice is at the right thickness then replace the cube size control, but if dose not harvest the ice and you see the ice is at a good thickness and not to thick because if it is to thick it will freeze to every thing and will not drop. SYMPTOM. Unit freezes, but will not try to harvest. POSSIBLE CAUSE: Cube size control will not close; to check: Unplug water pump, switch unit OFF and then ON, in about 2 minutes the timed freeze light on the control board should be ON. PROBABLE FIX: If timed freeze light does not go ON, replace cube size control. SYMPTOM #2: Timed freeze light glows, but after 4 minutes unit dose not power hot gas nor purge valves Then replace control board.

Scotsman cme256 as-1d sticks in harvest cycle

The only thing that tells the machine that a harvest cycle has completed and takes it back into a freeze mode is the ice level control. when the machine go's into a harvest the ice drops through the ice level control and brakes the beam and switches the machine back to freeze cycle. Pull the the ice level controls and replace them. if there is nothing wrong with them than it is the electronic controller. part number for ice level controllers are 11-0540-21. The part number for the control board is 12-2838-24

Ice machine harvest two times and shut off

These unit time freeze time and harvest times and keeps track of them. If your freeze time exceeds 35 minutes or harvest time exceeds 3 minutes, it will place unit in lockout. The biggest cause for excessive time to harvest is the harvest valve not functioning properly, and undercharged unit or a dirty condenser. The most probable cause is a dirty condenser. Under charged units can be determined by checking compressor outlet temperature while running, it should be 150 to 190 degrees depending on atmospheric conditions present. If it is harvest valve, the downstream temperature will stay at or near compressor discharge temperature. It should cool down to ambient temperature in a few minutes after freeze cycle begins.

It will not stay in harvest cycle long enough to make ice before it goes into defrost

First it has to go through freeze cycle then harvest cycle to drop ice then back to freeze cycle. If you have never worked on ice machines before you should call a service company.

English instructions for saivod fhs186 ice maker

DO THE BASICS:
Change the water filter
Add ice machine cleaner and go by the directions.
What should be kept clean?
There are 5 things to keep clean:
1. The outside cabinet & door.
2. The ice storage bin.
3. The condenser.
4. The ice making system.
5. The ice scoop.
The ice storage bin should be sanitized
occasionally. It is usually convenient to sanitize the
bin after the ice making system has been cleaned,
and the storage bin is empty.
A sanitizing solution can be made of 1 ounce of
household bleach and two gallons of hot (950F. -
1150F.) water. Use a clean cloth and wipe the
interior of the ice storage bin with the sanitizing
solution, pour some of the solution down the drain.
Allow to air dry.

How to clean the condenser.
The condenser is like the radiator on a car, it has
fins and tubes that can become clogged. To clean:
1. Remove the kickplate.
2. Locate the condenser surface.
3. Vacuum the surface, removing all dust and lint.
Caution: Do not dent the fins.
4. Replace the kickplate.
Winterizing
1. Clean the machine as explained on the next
page.
2. Turn off the water supply.
3. Drain the water reservoir. See page 24, Spray
Pump Repair and follow the instructions to remove
the pump hose (step 2, bottom hose only).
4. Disconnect the incoming water line at the inlet
water valve.
5Remove control box cover and turn the timer
into the harvest cycle.
6. With the machine operating, blow air through
the inlet water valve; a tire pump could do the job.
7. Drain pump models should have about 1¤2 gallon
of RV antifreeze (propylene glycol) poured into the
ice storage bin drain.
Note: Automotive antifreeze must NOT be used.
8. Replace control box cover. Switch off and
unplug the machine.

CUBE ADJUSTMENTS
There are three items that may be adjusted: Cube
Size, Harvest Time, and Bin Level. Note: Cube
Size and Harvest Time adjustments should only be
done by a qualified service person.
Cube size control.
The cube size control should only be adjusted to
bring the cubes to the correct shape, the overall
size cannot be adjusted. Try to adjust the cube
size control when the ice machine is in the harvest
cycle, or in the first 10 minutes of the freeze cycle.
1. Open the door and remove the control box
cover.
2. Locate the cube size adjustment screw, and to
make fuller cubes, turn the screw clockwise about
1/4 turn. This will make the freezing cycle longer.
3. To shorten the freezing cycle and make cubes
that are not as full, turn the adjustment screw 1/4
turn counterclockwise.
4. After the next freezing cycle, the cubes should
have responded to the adjustment, if another
adjustment is required, do it early in the freeze
cycle.
