In my previous residence, the next door neighbors' remote controlled my fan and its light as well....

I use simpler pull cord fans solely these days. As for dimming (remote or wall switch), LED likely saves the day where fluorescent fails....

IF it is an infrared remote, there is some directionality to the signal and you can shield one unit from commands if you want them operating independantly..

Two fans mounted close. Remote operates both at same time

Try using the remote much closer to one of the units at a time. If that doesn’t work you’ll have to do it manually or get a different brand for one fan.

Remote not operating with ceiling fan

Hello, Aileen -

If you have not installed a fresh battery in the remote control for your ceiling fan, do that.

Another thing to consider, you may need to have a wall light switch (which is connected to your ceiling fan) turned on before the fan can operate. That is the case with our ceiling fan, which also has a remote control.

Without knowing the make and model of your fan, it is a challenge to provide you with more assistance. You can add the make and model of your fan by choosing Comment and typing the information in the Comment box.

Best wishes.

Hunter Ceiling fan remote is operating all the other ceiling fans as well

Sounds like all the dip switches are set to factory still. Easy enough to fix.
Slide open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control and remove the fan's canopy against the ceiling. Then just change the switch to a different setting but make sure that the remote and fan have the same setting. Repeat this in each room so that all the fans have a different setting to each other.

Hope this makes sense.

Fan with remote won't work with wall switch. I

I just recently purchased a hunter ceiling fan w/light and remote. Had it installed and wall switch would not work, only remote. I contacted Hunter company directly about this problem and I was told that they redesigned their fans with remotes so that only the remote works for turning off power to fan. The person who made that made that BRILLIANT change should be fired. So to those of you who own a newer hunter an product with a remote ne your wall switch will not work tat s te reason why.

Can I use same remote for more then one of the same type ceiling

If they are all the same make/model they will only have a few frquencies they work from. If there is a slide switch or something that is numbered 1 to 4 or whatever, set them all to the same and 1 remote will work them all.(or should).
