Cannon pixma ip1200 keeps saying cartridge not clipped in

hi
i,v got a cannon pixma ip1200 it keeps saying cartridge not clipped in any ideas as i know it is clipped in just replaced the black but it is an old colour cartridge
just dont want to buy a colour cartridge if is u/s.
