I work for COBY tech support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.

If you want to reformat the unit, find it on your "My Computer" screen. You'll find "My Computer" on your start menu. The player should appear as a removable disk. Right-mouse click on the icon and choose format. However, if this doesn't solve the problem you're having, the unit needs to be exchanged. Have you tried the reset hole on the back of the player?

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. I hope I've earned a positive rating from you today.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

SOURCE: how do i recharge my slick 2gb mp3 music and video

Like most MP3 player with an inbuilt internal battery, your Slick 2gb mp3 music and video player will have an internal Li-Ion rechargeable battery that will be recharged via your USB Data cable while connected to an USB port on a PC/LAPTOP or USB charger.

My mp3 will not syn and i lost the cd

That's because it didn't come with one - it was on the COBY Player. I did the same thing - looked all OVER for that CD!!! ;-)

I use music in the *.mp3 format at 128mbs

1. I put all movies (avi or wmv), music (MP3s), photos (160x128pixels - jpg) or audiobooks in it's own folder (on my computer) in a folder called "FOR COBY" Easier to restore later, when coby needs ro be reformatted or you change computers (drives)

2. If you've had to re-format the player (which is a great way to get all previous stuff off it), you can get the manager from here:

CobyMedia Manager fix for MP822 (Windows XP/2000/Vista)

Don't let it throw you that it says it's for the MP822 - it also works for the MP610

3. Install downloaded program. Open it.

4. Plug your TURNED OFF Coby Player into the USB port - it will show up in the "DEVICE" tab after the computer goes through it's "Found New Hardware" process

I cant download music into it

Thry the solution below. If it does not work then you need to reformat. Also you might want to go to the coby website and download a updated version on the firmware and reflash your player. This will set it back to factory settings.
  1. Open Windows Media Player.
  2. Find and click the "Sync" tab. This is located at the very top of the program.
  3. Plug the Coby mp3 player into one of the USB ports found on your computer. Depending on the exact Coby mp3 player that you own, you can either plug the player directly into the USB port or by using the cord that came with the Coby mp3 player. The name of the Coby mp3 player will appear in the top right corner of Windows Media Player.
  4. Click "Library." This link will be on the left side of the program.
  5. Double-click the "Songs" option in the middle of the screen.
  6. Scroll through the list of music on your computer until you find the songs you want to put on the Coby mp3 player. Right-click on the title of the song and a drop box will appear. Select "Add to Sync List." You will then notice the song listed in the column located on the right side of the program.
  7. Repeat the previous step until you're finished putting songs on the Coby mp3 player.
  8. Click the "Start Sync" tab located beneath the list of songs you chose in Step 6. Those songs will then be added to your Coby mp3 player.
