Is there any device I can use to connect iPod to my 2001 JVC Rx-8000Vbk?

This receiver has served family room AV system well for 13 years. I use second speaker set outdoors. I really want to hook in iPod for daughter's grad party June '15. If not may have to upgrade before then.

SOURCE: JVC RX-884VBK RECEIVER

The JVC RX-884VBK is a great machine, I had it for over 5 years and had no problem at all. I came across the (NO SOUND at all) and I believe it is an easy fix. Check the Front left, there are 2 keys marked 1 and 2 for SPEAKERS output, sometimes you don't notice that you connected the speakers to 1 and the 2 key is pressed. You could have both keys pressed and you will get the sound. I hope that helps.

SOURCE: I have a JVC rx-6032v

yes, you must use the setup menu and assign the optical input to the input you are using. Some receivers have a "input mode" switch. If this one does, you only ned to press it until it says "optical". If you have a owners manual, it will decribe all the settings that need to be made to accomplish what you need.

If you do not have one, I have uploaded one to my website for you do have. It will only be there for a limited time before I remove it, so get it quickly. You need Adobe Reader to read this, so if you don't already have iton your computer you can download it free here:

Here is the link to the owners manual:

I would appreciate a "FixYa!" rating for this free information and manual. Let me know if I can be of any further help.

SOURCE: How much is a JVC RX 750v worth?

I have this same unit. It is many years old, and does not handle any modern codecs, nor home theater duties. It was, however, a very good unit for its day. If I were to sell mine, I would not accept less than 100 US with remote.

JVC RX-558V no sound at all

First of all, check if there is any audio device connected to the receiver. If there is, check if the audio device is turned on and the volume is correctly set.If the receiver does not have any audio device connected, then you should connect the antenna and try again.

Can my rx-817v home theater system be connected to an ipod or is it too old?

Any iPod or MP3 player at its most basic level is just an ordinary analog audio source.

For just listening, any audio device with a headphone/earbud output can be connected to any available analog Line Level input (except PHONO) with a simple adapter. They don't tell you that in the iPod manual because they want you to purchase expensive accessories like docking stations.

You'll still have tyo navigate the music on the iPod. Life is cruel like that.

Why does my RX-8000VBK says overload when nothing is connected? Please help!

The audio outputs on your receiver are shorted and the parts must be replaced in order for it to work again, the overload protect kicks in to prevent further damage to the device when this happens.
