What is the time interval between frames i Sequential shooting" mode for Olympus D-720 camera?

Hi, I have the Olympus D-720 camera, and I try to use it for moving object speed measurement. The camera has 3 "sequential shooting" modes: normal, faster and slower. I got a sequence of frames, the exposure stated is 1/1000 sec., but what is not given anywhere in the manual is the time interval between frames. Can you help? My mail is [email protected] Thanking you in advance

That might not be a fixed interval, Lev - it may be somewhat variable depending upon the complexity of the scene. You can test it by driving at a known speed in your car and taking a sequence of photos out the side window.

Testimonial: "Hi Tim, Thank you for a suggestion. I will try to use it, or (may be) try to contact Olympus. Here probably not the complexity of scene, but the picture resolution - shorter interval for less pixels. Anyway, thanks! Lev"

Burst??

The camera does not have a burst mode unless what you are referring to is a sequential shooting mode which it does have. Page 72 of your advanced camera manual explains how to set that mode up and use it.

I wanna take a picture but i dont know how to make the camara wait 10 sec before it takes the picture

Hi,

Self-timer shooting:

This function lets you take pictures using the self-timer.
Fix the camera securely on a tripod for self-timer shooting. This function is useful for taking
pictures when you want to be included in the photograph.

1 Select [ON], and press Z.
2 Press the shutter button fully to
take the picture.
• Pressing the shutter button halfway
locks the focus and exposure.
• The self-timer lamp lights for
approximately 10 seconds, then starts
blinking. After blinking for approximately
2 seconds, the picture is taken.
• To stop shooting while in n mode,
press the shutter button fully again.
• To cancel the self-timer, press Z.
• The self-timer mode is automatically canceled after one shot.

Note:
• If sequential shooting is attempted in self-timer mode, the camera shoots 5
frames at most regardless of the setting.

Hope my info fixes your problem,
Thanx for using fixya,
cheers.

How do you set up sequential shooting on an Olympus E500

Single-frame shooting o Shoots 1 frame at a time when the shutter button is
pressed. (normal shooting mode)
Sequential shooting j Shoots 4 frames or more at 2.5 frames/sec. (in SHQ,
HQ or SQ) for as long as the shutter button pressed.
Focus and exposure are locked at the first frame.
1 Press the </Y/j (Remote control/
Self-timer/Drive) button.
2 Use the control dial to set.
o Single-frame shooting
j Sequential shooting
3 Press the shutter button all the way to
take the picture.
Press the shutter button fully and keep it
pressed. The camera will take pictures in
sequence until you release the button.
Notes
Sequential shooting is not possible when [NOISE REDUCTION] (g P. 95) is set
to [ON].
During sequential shooting, if the battery check blinks due to low battery, the
camera stops shooting and starts saving the pictures you have taken on the card.
The camera may not save all of the pictures depending on how much battery power
remains.

The above comes from page 62 of your user manual.

Sequential shooting modes

There are four sequential modes: Sequential shooting, High-speed Sequential shooting, AF Sequential shooting and Auto Bracketing. Sequential shooting modes can be selected from the CAMERA menu: Sequential shooting: A maximum of 11 frames can be shot sequentially at approximately 1.7 fps in HQ mode. Focus, Brightness (exposure) and White Balance are locked at the first frame. High-speed Sequential shooting: A maximum of 4 frames can be shot sequentially at approximately 3.3 fps. Focus, Brightness (exposure) and White Balance are locked at the first frame. AF Sequential shooting: Focus is individually locked for each frame. The AF Sequential shooting speed is slower than for normal sequential shooting. Auto Bracketing: When Auto bracketing is set, exposure is changed automatically for each frame when you start shooting. The exposure differential can be selected in the menus. Focus and white balance are locked at the first frame.

Changing the quality setting

There are three groupings of shooting modes on the C-720UZ - 1) Program & A/S/M, 2) Auto & Sports & Portrait & Landscape, 3) Movie mode. Each group can retain a quality selection for all modes in the group. Therefore, you cannot have a different quality setting for each shooting mode within a grouping.

Sequential shooting

Yes, in the Sequence mode. The built-in SD-RAM with a large capacity of 32MB makes sequential shooting in high shutter speeds (about 3.3 fps) possible in all modes, except the TIFF mode.
