How awfully nice of you to tell us. Unfortunately, Fixya cannot help with queries of this nature (even if we understood it) - we exist purely to assist people with technological problems - in this forum, Digital Camera issues.
May I suggest you address this query to a more appropriate support organisation ?
I think that is a 1 watt radio. In optimal conditons you should be able to get a 3/4 mile solid, maybe a bit more. In a not so great situation, such as woods or buildings in the way about 1/2 mile or a little less.
Whenever the FTM is not closed properly, it checks the file system. Generally a good idea to close the program when all is running fine, then restart to see that it's all running fine, and continue to work then. In menu EDIT there is also a facility to check for errors, normally for relationship issues or bad links, but may show up other problems as well.
Generally no need to compact files.
OK this is usually only done at the initial install... Un-install it completely, then reinstall and when it starts fill in the Country and Channel.. should be all good... There also may be a Utility, check Linksys web site, that comes with/for the device that will allow you to change it on the fly as it were.
when I open FTM 2008 I get the message that the program was not closed properly and that I should compact the last open file at Tools, Compact file but I cannot go to Tools as the program has not opened. I have tried going to my FTM family file itself but do not see Compact file in this menu. any suggestions. Thanks Claire
The frequencies in the TalkAbout T5720 are not adjustable. The radio operates on the designated Family Radio Service channels located at 462 and 467 MHz. There is no way to change these channels to be at 463 and 464 MHz.
