What would cause too much moisture in cakes that are stored in a Model GDM-23 unit. I have not had this problem until recently. I almost feels that the cake is wet.

SOURCE: I need to replace the door bulb and the bulb above

The door bulb is a standard , I believe 32" t-12 newer units may be t-8, common bulb in stores. I've got an older gdm 23 and the bulb on top is a curved one , harder to find. Also these lights have ballasts that power them, they also can fail

How do I calibrate the temp. control on a GDM-23 that runs too cold 32-25?

If you cant get the control warm enough there are a couple of possibilities. First:You recently had gas put in the system and the system wasn't fully evacuated and a new charge weighed in. The sensor is clamped to a specific spot on the coil suction line and It is not sensing the cooling so it will run and run and run. You will need to recharge the system and the balance will be restored. The second reason is the system is losing its charge and again the temperature control is not being satisfied. You will need to find the leak, repair it and recharge the system. Temperature controls are pretty simple, are calibrated at the factory and unless abused, pretty much last the lifetime of the box. It would be easier to replace it than calibrate it. Hope this helps and good luck.

Doesn't get cold

With this small tid bit of information, all I can do is give a few simple things to check. First Check to see if the unit is plugged in. Be sure not to use extension cords as they cause voltage drop and can cause compressor starting problems. Then check the condenser coils. This is where the radiator is with the fan. Be sure this is clean. If none of these are the problem, I suggest a professional technician. Hope this helps

L.comTrue model GDM-23 starts and stops(very short cycles10 sec. or so

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay. The relay is a small usually black cube shaped electrical part plugged into the compressor or wired to it nearby. It may appear burnt or rattle when shaken if it's bad. The two connections should show continuity with an amp meter. If it's good then it's most likely the compressor causing the problem.

I have a true upright commercial display refrigerator.I think the tempature control is faulty. It freezez everything,I use it for beer and wine.I have cleaned the condensor and still no luck.No matter what...

it is just a temp control, look real good at the control and see if you can see any holes in it that might have a small screw that can be turned. Maybe an in and out, you may be able to adjust it this way. let me know.

Product in my true gdm-49f freezer is frosting up and there is an ice build up around the inside of the case. what could be the causes of this.

Try defrosting the unit by shutting it down until all ice is gone. If this corrects the problem and the ice returns you may either have a defrosting problem or a low freon charge.

What initiates the defrost?

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly.

Your defrost cycle is controlled by a mechanical defrost timer similar to a spa timer

Download this manual then see pages 13 and 14 for locating and setting the defrost timer.

http://www.mbm-service.de/mbmTechTwo/True_/GDM-9+/Service_Manual.pdf

There are 3 different types of GDM units. NOTE the one 2 and 3 door timer locations on page 13. There are all in different locations.

Also see page 109.

True gdm-33 icing up have to disconnect then works okay for acouple of days

2 things to check - Excessive moisture coming inside will cause frosting - Have it serviced and check proper door seals - the next thing to check, for frost free units, is the defrost timer and its components - no defrost cycle = frosting up.
