Remove the reinforcement plate under the engine. 4 x 17mm nuts. You will need to hold the back side of each bolt with a box end wrench or it will just spin. Then you will see the oil pan. Remove the 10mm nuts and the pan will come off. . (Drain the oil first!). When you replace the reinforcement plate, use new bolts. They are one-time use. (Really).

Depends on the engine, if its a M62, its under the hood, torwards the front drivers side. 9e6fcd7.jpgIf it a N62, it is on the underside of the vehicle, next to the oil drain plug. Its the black plastic housing with a 6mm allen bolt in it(thats used to drain the oil out before removal)25e2e14.png

You will need to replace the oil level sensor. It is located on the bottom of the the foward oil pan. Do it during a oil change, you will have to remove the oil first. Here is a link to the part at Bimmer Specialist. Call and make sure it is the correct one before you buy. Good Luck.

HOW DO I FIND THE LOCATION OF THE 2001 BMW X5 3.O emergency fuel door release?

Open the boot and to the right hand side of the boot you will see a green round button pull on it and it will pull the locking actuator back allowing you to open the fuel flap, if you can't see the green button then it may have dropped behind the boot cover and you will need to pull the cover back to get to the green pull button.

I have 2001 bmw 740il and when i cold start my car in the morining, engine makes very loud roring sound and then calmes down.

This is due to a clogged oil pan filter and gunked up lifters. Remove oil pan and clean screen filter. Use and internal engine cleaning solution before your next few oil changes to clean valves and lifters.
