A u5 code is a ac current fault. On my Oullette system it was pointing to a magnetic switch on the reversing valve. I was told by a electrician that installs that model to unbolt it from the valve an lightly sand the rod and grease it up. Then reinstall it. Always turn the power off at all times when working on these units. I did just what he said and had no problems for about 2 years and then it happened again. Had a tech come in and check my refrigerant and it was low.. He brought it back up to specs and lasted for quite awhile. But this year I had to power the unit down and clean up the switch and it worked for 24 hrs until I changed the temperature inside and it went back to running but not cooling. Now it continues to give me a u5 code after 5 to 7 minutes. Outside replacing the board which is 800 dollars not sure it is worth the effort seeing the unit is 8 years old and I have a new one on site to replace it. Just would like to know what is causing this to fail. The other unit works fine but I'd not used as much as this one. Both identical and installed at the same time. Only difference is we didn't have stranded communication wire enough to do both units so the problematic one is having issues. Might be worth changing the wiring out? Any thoughts out there. Thanks.

E pa au u5 5e

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you are receiving multiple error codes on your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# FAHE4044MW. I see that the error codes showing are "E", "PA", "AU", "U5", and "5E". I suggest resetting your washer, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. When you restore power, start any cycle on your washer. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
