Where can I get a replacement solenoid switch for my LG LFX25980ST?

If your refrigerator's ice maker is working, but no ice is dispensing through the dispenser, there are a few possible causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check the ice chute: Make sure the ice chute is clear of any ice obstructions. Sometimes, ice can get stuck in the chute, blocking the flow of ice to the dispenser. Use a plastic utensil or a straw to clear any ice buildup or debris in the chute.
2. Inspect the dispenser mechanism: Open the dispenser area and check if any part of the mechanism is obstructed or damaged. Look for any ice blockages or misaligned parts that may be preventing ice from being dispensed properly. Clean or repair any issues you identify.
3. Verify the dispenser solenoid: The ice dispenser is usually operated by a solenoid that controls the release of ice from the ice maker. Ensure the solenoid is functioning correctly by listening for a clicking sound when you press the ice dispenser paddle. If you don't hear a click, the solenoid may be faulty and require replacement.
4. Check the dispenser motor: The dispenser motor is responsible for activating the auger that pushes ice through the chute. If the motor is not functioning properly, it may need to be replaced. Test the motor by activating the ice dispenser and listening for any humming or buzzing sounds. If you hear the sound but the auger is not turning, the motor may be faulty.
5. Inspect the ice bucket: Ensure that the ice bucket is properly installed and seated in the correct position. Sometimes, if the bucket is not aligned correctly, it can prevent ice from flowing through the dispenser. Remove the ice bucket and reposition it securely.

The chute door isn't opening when you call for ice. The solenoid can be bad, or the micro switch that operates the door is bad.

On Mine, the solenoid connection fell off that allows the ice to dispense, Thank you so much!

You may have an issue with one or more of the following:

* icemaker
* dispenser actuator
* ice chute door assembly
* ice dispenser solenoid (if the solenoid is stuck in an open position, the ice chute door/flap would remain open allowing cold air to escape).

Contact an appliance service company.

You may have a broken solenoid inside the motor assembly.  The solenoid controls the arm for cubed or crushed ice.  The only way to tell is remove the ice dispenser motor assembly and look at the solenoid.  If the solenoid is broken, replace it and everything should be ok.

Check the following:

Is the freezer door closed completely?

Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?

Is there ice in the storage bin?

Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?

Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?

Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.

Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket? Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
bin.

Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
ice? Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.

Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
compartment.
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
(right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

REMEMBER:

Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.

The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well
maintained

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
unlock the dispenser.

Open the freezer door and look down the ice chute while you shine a flashlite up the dispenser cute from the outside. If you see light around the chute door, it needs to be replaced or something is wrong with the mechanism. The problem you describe is almost always air leakage around that flap.

Pull out your ice bin. In the back of the bin you will see a rod protruding from one side. That rod goes into an opening in the rear of the freezer. There is a solenoid behind that opening that raises and lowers the arm on the ice bin giving you crushed or cubed ice. Check to see if that solenoid is froze up or if your rod got stuck under it. If all check ok then replace that solenoid.

There is an electric solenoid that opens the door. If you look up inside the dispenser you can see the solenoid. Either the solenoid is bad or the dispenser module that puts power to it is out. You will need to remove dispenser front and check for voltage to solenoid. If you have power from module, replace solenoid, if no power, replace both parts. It is common for solenoid to short out and damage the module so that both must be replaced. If solenoid is shorted and you replace module, new part will fry.
