Sounds like a serious sensor problem.

This cannot be fixed by the consumer. If the camera is still under warranty, contact the seller or Kodak about repair or replacement. I found Kodak tech support extremely difficult to deal with and quite unhelpful but they did eventually repair it and it cost me only $15 for shipping.

They warned me that if I sent it to them and they found I had abused it, they would charge me $35 for analyzing the problem if I chose not to have it repaired but that the $35 would be deducted from the cost of repairs if I let them fix it. Fortunately that did not become a problem.

However, the first time I used it after it was fixed, I was on a beach in the Bahamas and the identical problem occurred again. Fortunately I had a film camera with me as a backup.

I left that $100 camera on the beach swearing I would never buy another Kodak AV product again. By then, the warranty had expired and I wasn't about to throw good money after bad by paying Kodak to fix it again.

Kodak sold it's AV group two or three years ago and they still use the Kodak name but they're not really Kodak.

The real Kodak film company still makes great film, photographic processing chemicals, etc. but they no longer deal in cameras, projectors, etc.

If the warranty has expired, it will likely cost you almost as much as you paid for the camera to get it repaired by Kodak. You might find another repair shop on the web that will do it a little cheaper. I use Precision Camera and have had good luck with them. www.precisioncamera.com.

They have flat rate quotes for repairs and it would not take long to get a quote from them. You can also do a web search for camera repair shops. There are many and you may find one that's local for you.

SOURCE: Canon Powershot S500 ELPH pictures look like colors "run"

It may be the firmware or possibly the sensor itself. I would guess the firmware or processing engine.

Paint bubbling and peeling soon after painting a newly rendered wall........how do we fix it?

Sorry for the paint peeling and bubbles. It's not the drywall tape that has bubbles... right? Paint can react like this when it is applied over a sanded wall that has not been cleaned and still has a layer of drywall dust on it. When primer is applied to the wall, it is best to use something to push the paint on the surface to combine the dust with the paint. This could be done using a paint pad but should be more than just rolled on. The paint needs to mix with the dust and stir it in with the paint so the paint get under the dust. You might try thinning the paint a little to allow for better attraction to the wall. So now how do you repair this? By scraping the loose paint off and starting with a new coat. You know. it could also just be bad paint.

My autofocus on my canon 500d camera is not working properly. I find i have to switch to manual focus to take the pictures, even in all the atoumatic settings. I have only noticed this problem occurring in...

All auto focus cameras use contrast to focus so if you are attempting to focus on glass, chrome, blank sky, large body of water, painted wall, mirror, or any other low contrast subject the auto focus will fail. Another place auto focus will fail is when you are to close to your subject you my not be physically to close but have used the zoom to give a closer shot.

How could i put a glitters with my wall at my facebook

  • SPRAY CLEAR GLITTER ON DRY WALLS -- Go to your local craft store and pick up a couple cans of spray glitter. You want a clear base so you can keep your current wall color. Look for a spray that says something like clear glitter finish or clear glitter sealer. Then just spray your walls with the clear glitter spray.

  • PAINT YOUR WALLS WITH GLITTER SPRAY PAINT -- If you want to change the color of your walls you can spray paint them with colored glitter spray paint so you get the painting and glitter done in one easy step. However, spray paint can be expensive and you may find it is difficult to get a nice even coat of paint. So this method would be good for a small room or an accent wall.

  • PAINT YOUR WALLS THEN ADD GLITTER -- This is the cheapest way to get the glittery look you want. Buy your wall paint in the color of your choice. Then buy tubes of glitter in the craft section. As you paint your walls, do one small section at a time. Then pour out a bit of glitter on a paper plate and gently blow on the glitter so it blows onto the freshly painted wall. The glitter will stick to the wet paint. Then move on to the next section and do the same thing! If you are applying two coats of paint to your walls add the glitter to the second coat.

Hi I bought my canon 1000d on september 2009 and a year later the autofocus doesnt want to work. In the viewfinder on the far right a number 9 has a green dot flashing next to it. Please help!! Ruthven...

The 9 you see is the maximum "burst" which is (pictures made in rapid succession) and is not an issue with your problem at this time the flashing green dot is the in focus confirmation light and it's good that you are seeing this as we will use it to remedy the problem.

    Manual focus switch
    Diagram here
    tri3mast_181.jpg
What I want you to do is put the AF-MF switch in the manual mode if it's already in manual mode then that was your problem switch to AF and go take some pictures. If it's in AF mode switch to MF make sure teh camera is on and look through the viewfinder at a subject say 15 feet (4.5 meters) away something that has contrast then turn the manual focus ring on the camera slowly until it appears to your ey that it's coming into focus when it's in focus the green light will come on solid, now you know what you are looking for focus an several different objects at different distances and focus manually. Now switch the lens over to AF (auto focus) and focus on the same thing but let the camera do the focusing What auto focus will not focus on in something with little or no contrast like water clear blue sky a painted wall mirror chrome glass and a few other things.
Here is another diagram to check make sure you are in the correct mode.
    Diagram
    tri3mast_182.jpg
Now for the focus point in the viewfinder make sure it's in the center position.
    tri3mast_183.jpg
To adjust the focus point do this
    tri3mast_184.jpg
Once you have the camera set to the center focus point and the correct AF mode (one shot) auto focus should return to your camera. Have fun Robert from London Ontario Canada

My camera will not immediately take a picture.

The beep and no shutter action is usually because the auto focus is not focused. If you are using a zoom lens try backing up or unzooming a little.

My picture looks like an oil painting or cartoon

if you lose your video or weaken the video driver you just might be looking at straight color that looks funny like you described... but looking at this picture ... I see the flash from the camera and and lots of video (the black and white) but it does look dark over-all... which I would first try to reset my screen control that is located on the bottom of the flyblack.
    the convergence looks fine.

    Canon XL1s Viewfinder image gone

yeah, it sounds like the LCD has cracked at the bottom, or something. Since there is no pressure holding the liquid in the right place, it all settles at the bottom. (Hence the paint running down wall effect) soory to hear this dude :(
