There is a bracket that is hung on the wall then the unit is hung on the bracket, it should lift off the bracket by pulling out on the bottom and lifting up. careful of the copper lines. you may want to try connecting a shop vac to the drain line where the water drains, make sure you seal the suction well with duct tape or something and try that first, it should clear it just fine

SOURCE: Hitachi RAS-10C2M. What size of air conditioner

If the number you say is the model number, it appears to be a 10,000 BTU.Check on the sides of the unit, or inside where the air comes out, and it should give the numbers. It should say 5000 to1800 BTU, if it is a 110 volt unit. BTU is what you are looking for if you want the output, not HP.

I have a "Hitachi split type air conditioner model RAS- 3098U", and its started leaking today from the right side. I didn't install it and I can't figure out how to remove the front cover to l

water is coming from evaporator drain pan most likely. lots of humidity right now and 1st thing your ac is going to do is remove this from air. most likely cause would be condensation line clogged or if you have condensate pump, then it also could be cause. to remove cover usually you have to remove air filters look for any screws and possibly front louvers pull down. this usually does not give you access to drain pan. unit usually needs to be removed from wall plate and this might involve refrigerant lines being removed, and for that my friend you defiantly want a qualified professional.

Remove drain pipe from water pan. You can usually turn it counter clockwise. When drained, clean with fresh water and replace pipe buy placing pipe dope or teflon tape to avoid leaking.
