SOURCE: ASKO t700 dryer thumping sound

usually whin you get one thump (or a quick double thump) you have a dent in the roller surface of the drum itself. Easiest way to check this is to unplug the unit and take the top off by removing the 3 torx screws in the rear, then lifting the top off. Once the top is off look at the very front edge of the drum as you rotate the whole thing by hand. If you see any irregularities on the surface, thats your problem. If you see nothing it could be a bad motor or roller, but its unlikely if its happening in the same place on the rotation evry time. What has usually happened with dents in the surface of the drum is that the unit was set down too hard (or dropped) and the wheels it rests on dented the metal they ride on. If thats the case the only solution is to replace the drum or live with it .Good Luck!

SOURCE: my whirlpool estate dryer tub will not rotate

which pulley came off the one on the motor, or the Idler wheel that keeps tension on the belt. You probably will need a belt

SOURCE: LG Gas dryer doesn't dry clothes in one cycle

Have you checked your outside vent while it was running to see if the dryer was venting 100%. If your clothes are hot and humid I would say clean your vent pipe has a blockage and needs to be cleaned out. Also as far as the burning smell you could take the front off (unplug first) the dryer of by removing 4 screws one above and one below the latch and two at the bottom and there are two clips one at the top left and right push in with a puddy knife and lift the top up a couple inches and lift the front up off the bottom holders. Then you will have access to vacuuming the lint that is floating around the burner.

SOURCE: my whirlpool estate dryer tub will not rotate

To replace the belt unplug the dryer, remove the lint filter, remove the 2 philip head screws, with a stiff putty knife pry up in the top of the cabnet on the right and left to litf the top, disconect the door swithch remove the screw from each side and lift the front off romove the old belt the reinstall put new belt around the drum groove side toward the drum. put the idler pully in the slot closest to the motor be sure the tab is under the base and the 2 catches stit in the slot. now pull the belt through the idler pully and around the motor shaft. the reinsatll the front secure with the screws reconect the door switch, close the top, put the 2 screws back in where the lint filter goes then put in lint filter, plug in dryer and test.

SOURCE: Burning Smell from Belt on Whirlpool Dryer

Hi, You need to check and see if the belt has slipped off of one of the pulleys. Was the idler the wheels style or a glide style?
Make sure the grooves in the belt are facing the drum and they are in the grooves of the motor pulley.
Please let me know if this helps and if I can assist you further.

Drier is running hot, smells like my clothes are burning, and it keeps blowing the fuse in the main panel.

Most probably a venting problem and probably caused the heating element to ground out in its casing. Easiest way to verify is turn your timer to 30min and if dryer starts heating without pushing the start button you got a bad element caused by bad venting most of the time.

There's a slight burning smell coming from the dryer drum.

Some item may have gotten between the drum that rotates and the housing and during the rolling of the drum this item may be heating up from the friction. Check closely to see if you can find anything rubbing on the drum.

Washer fills with water, loud thump sound, no agitation occurs.

The thump is probably the motor trying to start followed by the burning smell of the belt slipping. See if something is jammed, but the most likely thing there is a bad transmission.

I have a Estate Whirlpool model#TGD5740. Smells like smoke when running. Still drys with heat and runs fine. What would cause this

You could have a build up of lent inside the dryer which might have ignited. Dryer should be dissasembled and cleaned.
Could be that your motor is over heating.
Depends on what type of smell your smelling;.If its the motor over heating, motor would have to be replaced.

Whirlpool Estate Dryer TGDS840JQ1 dryer runs but does not heat up to dry the clothes.

when you say heat up is it at least getting warm...
you may have a igniter gone bad or your thermostat may have failed... your igniter is what has to ignite the gas to burn to make it hot. If its electric then your heating coil has failed and needs to be replaced
