SOURCE: Coby Mp3 player

For your music, go in MTPMEDIA\Music folder then, create an another one and drag all your files in. Go in the new folder arranger your files alphabetically and drag them back to the music folder. Delete the new folder you created before and the next time you will look at your songs from your player, they will be in alphabetical order.

Have you checked to make sure that the black switch on the side of the mp3 player isn't set to random (the switch will be pushed towards the bottom)?

I want songs to play in the order I put them in NOT alphabetical

Make you a play list on your computer, the songs must be in the order that you want them to play. Plug your mp3 player into your computer. Go to start select my computer, a window should open with a list of contents and on the left the list of other start file will be visible. on the main page scroll down till you see your mp3 player witch is plugged into the usb select it. Once it has opened the device, click on start once again, this time you want to select music if that is where you saved your play list to. Drag the file that contains your play list on to the icon that you want it on your device. Be sure to title the file so you can identify it. If it works your play list will come up as you want it. I hope it works for you. good luck

I would like to know how to reatian the orginal song order from a CD when i download it to my Coby MP3 player, the MP3 player seems to place the songs in alphabetical order

I have the same player. I had to spend a few hours, but here is how I do it. There are probably other ways. First I had to rename all the mp3 files with a three digit prefix, ie 001, 002, 010,011, etc. Then I play the folder with the browser feature in music. Changing folders for me is a bit of a choir, though. I have found if I stop the mp3. Push the M button, go to library>Artists or Albums, start another song from another folder for a couple of seconds, stop the song, and push the M button again I can go back to the browser and choose what I want to play in the correct order. I also noticed in my research a lot of people were taking them back, but l they seem like they are pretty solid for the price.

My coby 828 mp3 won't list the songs or artists in alphabetical order, how can i get them in alphabetical order?

I don't know your mp3 player specifically, but it's a common issue with the cheaper players that they only display music in alphabetical order of the filename; and to make matters worse, the filename used is the "8.3 filename" (see wikipedia) rather than the long filename.

To establish if this is the case with your player, get a small selection of tracks and name them 001, 002, etc. (preserve the extension, whatever it is), copy them to the player and see if they play in the order of the numbers.

If you find that this technique works to allow you to control the order of play, you will want a more convenient way to manage a larger number of songs. I suggest using a free program called "MRename" by rajko (google for "rajko mrename"). Install this program.

1. To simplify things, copy the songs you want to a special folder for the purpose, because you're going to mess with the filenames.

2. Select all the songs, right click, and choose "MRename --recursion:OFF".

3. Use a select mask of *1 which will select all of them.

4. Use a rename mask of \N301.mp3 (replace 'mp3' if appropriate). This creates names of "N"umbers, "3" digits, with leading "0"s, starting from "1", and adds ".mp3" at the end as a literal.

5. At this point, you can actually move your tracks around in the renaming program... this is where you choose your play order! When you're happy, click "rename all" and it will be done.

6. Copy the tracks to the player, ensuring that they're the only ones on there, and they should play in the order you wanted.

Hello,

Assuming the player is charged. (For charging always connect directly to the computer, not through a reader or hub).
When buttons on the player do not react, reset the player:
Disconnect the player from the computer.
See that the HOLD button is not engaged.
Gently push the RESET button on the rear side: use a narrow pointed
object, like a paperclip.

Did synchronization of the songs in Windows Media Player fail ?
For transferring songs, check in Windows Media Player:
1. The player is detected in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.
2. Setup the Library / Add to Library: add the location of songs you want to transfer in the library.
3. Create Playlist; give the list a name and put songs in a playlist
4. Sync Playlist: transfer the list of songs onto the player and wait for the message until you're allowed to disconnect.

How do put movies on coby mp3 player, i own the movies, but want to put on so my son can watch his spongebob

Hello,
For using video on the MP815, use Coby Media Manager for conversion and transfer onto the player.
Coby Media Manager can be installed from the CD that came with the
player.
When not having the CD: get a download of the manager from next page, matching the computer's Operating System (Windows or MAC):
http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=fix_mp822

a6e3ac4.jpg In Coby Media Manager, in the page top select Tools > Device Manager..
Select the MP815 from the Devices list (click on MP815)
Add >> (MP815 as Favorite device)
OK
Next to the Tools selection, there's a Help menu for how to use the Manager.
