All fuel lines are off and replaced fuel primer bulb. Unit will start but will not run. Unit is a Poulan Pro 31cc 2001 US EPA PH1. S/N: 01345N300553-1. Any assistance will be appreicated, Thank you.

Primer bulbs pull fuel from the carb, into the bulb and dumps it back to the tank, if you have re connected the hoses to the primer the wrong way around it will try to force fuel into the carb and make it flood.

Checked all the parts lists, they seem to use the same primer through all types no.s part no. 530047213.

No they don't join together. One goes in and the fuel filter is attached to it. The other is the fuel return line, and that is the one that is attached to that plastic part. It is usually a one way valve and nothing else is attached to other end. To get the line in the tank get a small stiff wire, put it through the fuel line hole and other end through filler neck. Wrap the wire around the end of fuel line about 2 to 4 times and pull it through helping it along by pushing on line. I think you see where I am going with this so use your own judgment also. The smaller line is connected to the fuel filter in the tank and goes on the carb body opposite the end with the hole in the cover. A larger diameter line coming out of the tank is the fuel return line and has the little connector on it just inside the tank to hold it in place there
It goes on the carb body (if primer is on carb) by the bulb.
If there is an external bulb...the small line is the same...there would be a larger line going from the carb body (nearest the end with a hole in the cover) to the smaller nipple on the primer bulb. A third larger diameter line would be connected to the larger nipple on the primer bulb and running to the little nylon connector inside the tank. This is the fuel return line and the smaller diameter line is of course the fuel supply line.

Sounds as though the fuel filter may be plugged. The filter is in the tank. Take a look, see if it is visible. Remove and replace. Good luck...Lee

• The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
• If the saw is equipped with a primer, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer bulb (once bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill the bulb as the bulb refills).
• The pressure side of the primer returns any excess fuel to the tank as it is depressed.

The primer does require two lines attached as it is a Walbro style primer. All four SM132 models uses the WT628 Carb. Since the trimmer ran 10 minutes then you have got all the lines connected right. Mostly you got trash in your carb or it simply needs rebuilding as the diaphragm may have pin hole in it or the check valves are worn out. Depending on the age and use of your unit you may also have a sticking piston ring.
