I need a wiring diagram for a Mitsubishi Stereo DX-262AL. I want to replace it with a Clarion CD stereo, which I need to "marry" to the existing DX-262AL car loom. Any help much appreciated.

Hi there,

Option 1: If you haven't purchased any components yet.

If your Mitsubishi still has the original OEM (factory) wiring loom, then the newest method of connecting an aftermarket head unit (i.e. Clarion) is by using a 'snap-on' adaptor harness which eliminates the need for any cutting/joining/soldering.

The adaptor you want is the Mitsubishi-to-Clarion type: one end of the adaptor has the Mitsubishi (female) plug and the other has the Clarion (female) plug.

These adaptor looms can be purchased from most automotive accessory shops, or you can purchase very cheaply online from Ebay.

Check this link (this is the Clarion MAW2-16 adaptor for 1995-2004 Mitsubishi vehicles) @ USD $1 + $11 shipping (Note: the Year of your vehicle will determine which harness you require):

Option 2: the hard way

If you REALLY want to do it the hard way and start cutting wires, then here is the wiring colour codes:

EARLY MITSUBISHI AUDIO CONNECTORS:

LATER MITSUBISHI AUDIO CONNECTOR (SINGLE TYPE):

I trust this answers your question? :-)

I am trying to upgrade my stereo and are unsure which wires are which on the old wiring harness, any ideas how to get a wiring diagram?? pls help!!

You should just buy the harness adaptor for your car. Ive hooked up tons of stereos and its hard to find what the wires are unless you get the adaptor. Black is normally ground. red/yellow/white possibly power. You can go thru the trunk and see the wires going into the back 6x9's or whatever is back there. For the doors, you have to pull off the panels and look at the wires goin to the door speakers. Trust me, spend the money on the harness. Best buy or circuit city or something. Then all the car wires will match the colors of your deck. Anything else, let me know

I dnt know how to hook my sony explode cdx gt 200 to my honda civic hatchback 94

The Honda Civic requires a dash adaptor you need this wiring harness to install the stereo it dont seem a dash adaptor is required for the 94 model you use the cage/sleeve to install the sony in your car you will also need this removal tool and either wire nuts, heat shrink tubing, crimp caps and crimp tool or the common solder and wrap in electrical tape method to connect the wiring harness for the honda to the wiring harness for the stereo

Im trying to install a new stero in my car its a sony xsplode my car is toyota corolla gts what wires go to what the wireing harness that is on there now has wires connected to the wire harness that match...

Hi - unfortunatly you can forget colour coding as a means of connecting them as this rarely works. Autoleads sell adaptors to bridge for myour cars wiring look directly to the ISO connector from the Sont. Faining this a trace back or a Haynes manual will let you know what each wireof your loom is for and you sony manual shuld explain the harness

I need to know the wiring dia

all your wiring is color coated. if you have your harness from the the new reciever and you have purchased an adaptor harness which plugs into the vehicles existing harness enableling you to wire every thing as it is color coated you have red wire a yellow wire a black wire. your red and yellow are power and your black is your ground wire .your red should be be your acc or ignition wire which gives you power to the unit when the ignition is on should tie directly to the red wire on your adaptor harness, the yellow is your constant 12 volts which is for memory and keep your presest along with your time and features such as that it will tie with the yellow on the harness as well then the black is your ground the unit and will tie with the black wire on the harness. that takes care with powering the unit next you have a set of wires that you will be using to tie your sound to they are color coated as well and will tie to the new harness your front left and front right channels are white/white and black and usually gray/w a gray and white for the right channel thats your front. your rear is green/w green and purple and purple/w purple and white stripe for the rear speakers i hope that helps you out a bit

I have a 96 vw passat i just got a month agao i put in a after market radio in it drove the car to get it inspected didnt pass no dtc's drove the car over 300 miles two tanks of gas took it back for...

Yes, when you put an aftermarket radio, and use an adaptor harness, never use the blue, or blue white wires in the adaptor harness, the are supposed to go to an antenna or amp turn on, but actualy line up with the data wire in the factory harness. if you connect any thing from the radio to the data wire behind the radio, it will mess with your Vw's computor. This is something that you will want to fix now, I have seen many fried control mods/coputors due to this.
