Has worked fine until the update
SOURCE: Upgrader message
I've had the same thing happening and have been scanning the net for help. I finally got the player up and running, although I've lost aaaaaaaaaall my music....but at least I can stop shopping for a new player (for now). It was suggested on another site I plug it into the wall and keeep hitting reset and power in any random order. I would get strange things happening but it finally went back to normal and is now working again. There was no formula, just keep playing with the power and reset while it's plugged into the wall. I hope this helps.
SOURCE: OS won't work with RAM upgrade
Hi !
if u wanna upgrade RAM ,ur RAM should be of same capacity in both slot. i mean to say if u wanna use 1 GB....then put 512 & 512 or else put single 1 GB. But u cant use 512 in one slot & 1 GB in another slot at a time. if u do the combination like that ,it will never work.

you will have a very hard time finding drivers for xp. dell will not support and dell does not have drivers for xp for your system. try vista sp1. i have no problems with my 1530

Your hard drive may need reseating.
If it still gives error hard disk not found then you have a faulty hard drive.
You need a new hard drive and then install Windows Vista

Don't worry about "compatibility" issues. You can pretty much force Win 7 onto just about any laptop.
What you need to do is backup your files (that is if you have any you want saved)
You need to do a CLEAN install, not the UPGRADE when you boot from the Windows 7 cd.
Delete ALL of the partitions...then hit NEXT.
When it's done installing, run the updates and if you're missing any drivers after the updates post back the model of your laptop / desktop and we'll help you patch the missing ones.
Best of luck!
